I just use the Garmin that I had installed on my boat it marks the depths very well. Problem you run into out there shifting sand bars. You can go out there a hundred times cut outside the channel and have no problems but if you go out on the wrong day or the wrong tide I've seen people run into nasty surprises. If you're doing a lot of night traveling it's best to stay inside the markers and just travel at a slower speed.I have a novice question for the local boaters. With this region of the gulf, bay and intercoastal waters being so shallow, what do you guys use to help navigate the deep channels? I know the markers are great in the day and some have the lights at night, but does anyone have an app for their phone or a handheld device that guides you so you always stay within the channels, especially at night? thanks
Ended up at north Anclote. Not to busy. Was was flat as a board. 48 mph the whole wayWe hit Hernando beach? Did you go to the sandbar? Was it busy?
I saw that last weekend on the news. Not 100% sure where it is out there. Bad thing is i was at North Anclote sat and sun. Sure would like to know where that killer is.you guys see the reports of something in the water near Anclote Island, either a broken channel marker or a sunken sailboat....it ripped into the hull of a boat this weekend and sunk it. story is on baynews9.com
also, I heard from a friend that there are lots of dead fish and such in the bay and a weird smell, but I cannot find any reports of a spill or a known problem.
Sounds like @tim h might need to get his scuba diving equipment and check it out to save us all. Extra points if he puts a jetboaters.net flag off of it to mark it.Saw some coordinates for this on Instagram. No idea if they're accurate, but worth sharing on a long shot.

Yes to everything you just said lol. We Plan on hitting the water during the day with @wallacerb @tim h might even try to get @ThatJeepGuy and @ThatJeepGirl out there. Then later on get the McGregor Mayweather fight, deep fry a turkey and have a few drinks. You're more than welcome to bring the ski I have a 3-car garage we can keep it in or you can just ride with us on the boat either way it's all good. Usually we hit the water around 10 on Saturdays before it fills up too much out at the sandbars. So you're more than welcome to come down Friday or Saturday morning we have plenty of room.@Drift Away
whats the plan ? Am I bringing my ski? Will we be out on the water or is it the housewarming/fight night?
