Can’t really claim to be a rock crawler since I haven’t put it to the test much, but my 4Runner is somewhat capable. I put a 3” Icon Stage 2 lift on it with 285/70/17 General Grabber A/Txs. Would LOVE to throw in a supercharger eventually, winch, aftermarket front and rear bumpers, etc...I can go on and on lol. View attachment 122282View attachment 122283View attachment 122284
Haha, you ain’t lyin’! Luckily I only have to pull it about 12 miles to/from the boat launch on a straight, flat road. I didn’t know procharger came out with a supercharger for them. I’ll have to compare it with magnuson. One day...one day.The struggle looks real on the 4Runner towing a AR210. My 4Runner nearly hates life pulling the AR195 up medium grade hills. I just installed a transmission cooler over the weekend to help it out a little. Procharger just came out with their bolt on supercharger for $6k,100hp. Decisions... View attachment 124415

I just installed a supercharger in my 4Runner and it makes a world of difference. Pulled the boat on a 140 mile round trip a couple weeks ago…it felt good to pass people on the highway pulling a boat!!I pull my Scarab 215 with my JKU. About 3200 lbs. It pulls great, much better than I thought. Even had to shut it down fast one time and the trailer did most of the work! I was impressed. I put a cold air intake on and opened up the exhaust which help the power problem. Over the winter I regeared to 5.13 from 4.10. Made a huge difference! Got rid of the shifting problems also.
So I pull the boat about 35 miles on flat land. No problems. But if I want to travel I’m going to need more power. Anybody have a supercharger? If so does it give you enough power to pull your boat Up so hills?
Haha! “supposed to!” I went with Magnuson. They have a bolt on system, pretty easy to install. Tried and true. Pricey but really glad I did it.Thanks BeauSko!
Curious what SC did you go with? Ive done a little research and don’t know enough to understand any of the differences!!
but I sure like the idea of passing someone while pulling my boat! lol. Aren’t we suppose to be over this by the age of 25 ???
That looks like my stompin grounds. Where is that?Jeeper here. View attachment 152309

Super jealous. Definitely on my bucket list.Going to the 43rd Annual Jeep Jamboree Rubicon Trail trip with my brother and our sons at the end of July. Last year we had to abort at the trial head due to a bad transfer case. My brother spent some time and a lot of money to make sure history doesn’t repeat this year.

That is why my brother and I went in 2017 for the first time. It was on his bucket list.Super jealous. Definitely on my bucket list.
That group run seems to be the way to go. We got our jeep in 2017 and have done all of the local socal mountains, deserts and made it out to Utah last year. Just got our first Yamaha boat and joined this forum. So far with the active forum, mods, etc. it’s like the Jeep stuff all over again. Loving it.That is why my brother and I went in 2017 for the first time. It was on his bucket list.
if you want to go just be ready to buy your passes as soon as they are available. I was supposed to buy the passes this year but internet issues caused me to miss the window. All spots (90 or 120) were purchased within 2 minutes. Lucky my brother was able to score these alternative event tickets.
this will be our second trip, first with our sons. FYI- the current cost is $500 per adult for three days of goods and services. This includes all meals, exclusive camping and trail fees ( no other groups or individual 4 wheelers/crawlers), guides over the harder obstacles, T-shirt and the mechanical support I mentioned. Well worth it for guys like me. We were in the 4th and slowest group, so the first / hardest day took 12 hours to go the 8 miles to the rubicon springs campsite. The first group got there in 6 hours.
the 2017rubicon was my and my brother’s first time off road (total rookies). They pretty much fix everything on the trail and everything else at camp (rubicon spings) for the cost of the part, tip of you want to pay for the labor. They have helicopter support and satellite phones. GO if at all possible.
man you guys got me reminiscing View attachment 152410View attachment 152411View attachment 152412View attachment 152413View attachment 152414View attachment 152415
That’s a nice looking LJ. Enjoy it.2004 LJ was our first Covid Purchase (May 2020). We picked it up in Denver CO and drove home to California via Utah. We hit all 5 National Parks on the way home.View attachment 152312
