I installed this a few weeks ago. I absolutely love the way it turned out. I went with the Axiom 7" with Navionics. I didn't get the transducer as we don't fish. I mainly wanted it for the navigational aspect.

Hello,

Your in-dash Axiom 7 installation looks great!!! We are anticipating doing exactly the same installation for our new 2019 SX240. Were there any issues with cutting the dashboard?

Thanks

Take the dash out it makes it much easier. Tape it off first and then tape the template to the dash. I used a jigsaw with a fine tooth blade. It cut quickly and didn't leave any burs.

I will definitely follow your suggestion.

Thanks for the quick reply.

This is nice! I just bought the 7 with a transducer and I am getting the engine links for my 2007 sx230. I am not going to in dash mount because of all of the gauges. I take it the newer yamaha's don't have the huge gauge cluster.

There is a lot of dashboard room on the newer SX240 and AR240, as there is only the 7" Connext screen and a small phone holder. You can look at the 1/2/20 post by "sfadchi" with a good photo of a completed in-dash installation on a 2019 AR240. The new Axiom 7 was installed in place of the phone holder. Good luck with your installation.

How difficult was installation? What does it do that connext doesn’t? Thanks

Do you feel like it was worth it?

Do you feel like it was worth it?
Depends on how you use your boat. We like taking it to different places as well as off shore in the Keys and take it out at night. It’s 100% worth it for us.
