Bad fuel?

Good morning to you all. Its a 2012 yamaha waverunner vx. 4 cylinder with starting up and running for about 2 or so seconds then dying. Already cleaned spark plugs, checked fuel getting the rail, check injectors and all read at 13. Any ideas what else to check? Thank you so much! This is Joel by the way

When It dies after a 2 second run....... does it start right back up or is it just a no fire start. When she starts does will blipping the throttle keep her running or just dies after 2 seconds. Last when she dies...... does it stumble.......like running out of fuel or a quick snap of the finger die. If its quick it leans toward a electronic problem.

Hi and thank you for getting back to me. So will bad fire also. During engine turn over will apply throttle but doesnt help, though the next time i start it it will then run for a second or two. I also added heet (water remover additive) since the gas has been sitting for about a year now. Most of the time is just turns over and over but every so often will start with out doing the throttle actuation....

Backfire is different! Water in fuel or old fuel can cause a backfire............along with cam timing a cam senso feeds the emc computer and a backfire occurs when a valve is open due to a timing issue..........something you don't want on any engine but worse on an engine with a plastic intake manifold.

I think on a jet ski with possible old fuel I would just drain and start fresh instead of fuel treatment...............on a boat with 50gal on board sometimes treating and running it out make more since.

Thank you for this info...started to realize it may be just the fuel as being bad. More to come after getting some new fuel in there. Have a great weekend and appreciate your help in this all!
