Used to say this as a joke but if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all.

Yesterday I get a call from the storage facility where my boat is kept. Lady tells me there was an "incident" with my boat that they want me to come look at. I get there and this is what I find

Apparently one of their guys was moving it and ran into another worker moving something else. I'm still trying to figure out what speed the clown must have been going at to bend the trailer like that. They apologized multiple times and say they are going to pay for everything. I told them that it's a brand new boat and I want it back exactly the way it left the dealership.

Got the quote based on the pics I sent and the dealership says that they won't cut and weld the trailer so they recommend replacing it, which is what I want as well.

I'm so heated every time I think about it. 3-4 weeks to get the boat back to its original condition if they can stick to that schedule based on the fact that it's the start of boating season down here. I don't want to put it in the water until it is right so I'm gonna be landlocked which is upsetting me even more.

Think I fixed it sorry.

It is fixed and man that sucks, sorry to hear about your bad luck! Hopefully they get this fixed to original condition.

Damn. That REALLY sucks.

That's terrible! So they move your boat around when you aren't there? Apparently they're not qualified to do such things.

@Bill D It's an indoor storage facility. I use it and drop it off in a fenced parking lot. They move it under cover into a enclosed hangar type facility.

If you can get a check for the trailer you may be able to upgrade to aluminum, or pay the difference at the dealer. Just A thought.

Or take the cash for new trailer, and repair the old trailer. Keep the cash for mods.

Oh, I see. That really sucks. :(

That sucks !!!

So sorry man. I can only imagine how you're feeling right now.

I feel for ya brother. I went through a similar situation a couple of years ago where the guy that parks next to mine (or did) backed into the port side at the middle cleat. He basically jackknifed his trailer. Lucky enough he called me and settled up once I got the estimate. But I hate to say it that chances are it will not be back to original. Hopefully it will be close enough. My repair shop never could get the black perfect. I have gotten it back pretty close on my own but definitely not perfect but I am living with it now.

Good luck and I certainly hope it works out for you.

That doth suck.

But I am a little more optimistic than some of the others. The gel work looks pretty basic there and will probably turn out fine. The rest looks like replacing the rub rail and some other bits--bet that turns out fine, too. And, of course, you need a new cover... The trailer is definitely the worst part. Even that will work out fine (especially if you replace it with an aluminum one).

You will be back on the water in no time.

(can I get an 'optimistic'?)

Wow that is unbelievable. Sorry for the misfortune.
Hopefully a speedy turn around

That sucks a$$.

That said, a good fiberglass shop should be able to make it look like it never happened. The factory gel coats are available for perfect color matching, and the beauty of fiberglass boats is - the repair is as good as the original - strength and all, if done right. The graphic is just a sticker, so that can be replaced perfect. The rub rail is probably the tricky-est part actually, they may need to replace a big part of it.

Hope you get her fixed real soon!

I'm so sorry about this. We had something very similar happen several years ago to our first boat while in storage at a fair ground, but they didn't bring it to our attention - we brought it to theirs, but they owned up, thank goodness. Didn't make it suck any less, though, and I could see a little repair spot when it was done. I eventually just put it out of my mind. I hope yours is fixed VERY soon!

Not trying to be an ass, but why not? That part is not structural. Probably could fix it so it looks fine.

I agree and would get two quotes, one to fix the trailer and one to replace it. If my insurance company gave me a check for a new trailer I may fix what I had instead and pocket the difference.
