Guys I have read a ton of battery stuff and did a search. I have some basic questions I could not find answers to.

1.) Can I run one Very good battery to my stereo amps and only have a prosport 20 charging system for shore?
2.) Do I have to have a battery switch to connect the starting battery to the stereo battery?
My Boat has a 30 amp 380 w Generator. So I am just tiring to figure my batteries out as will my boat really charge the stereo battery any if I connect them?

I am thinking about this?

Thanks in advance

I have used the add a battery kit on several different boats. Works great and easy to install and will prevent you from killing your starting battery with accessory use

1) Yes
2) Yes, but putting in a switch guarantees no drain from the system...good piece of mind.

What battery do you guys like and run? Kinetic?

I just bought an XS Power XP3000 AGM isolated/dedicated for stereo for a ~600W system... so far so good. 120Ah 240min RC, keeps me going for 5-6 hours at medium-high volume before it gets to about 12V. Topped off nightly with shore power at my slip.

Was a bit difficult to get on the boat down at the lake, it's a 73lb very large battery :D

2 6v batteries in series will give you all day play time for your system and probably cost less or at the same price.

Witch ones? Can they be used to start boat? House and starter or keep my starting battery and add these's?
Thank you very much for responding!

They would be strictly for your stereo/house bank. You would keep just one 12v starting battery for your starting battery.

Got it.
So two 6v and a prosport20 and have fun?
Have a battery link. Also they only get charge on shore correct from prosport?

I like it as i have just the spot for them if they can be set up that way.

Yes. I plug my on board charger in when sitting in storage or at a slip with a electric poles. Keeping the batteries always topped off will help it last longer. I had to explain that to my sister one day about her cell phone battery. The more you run down the battery, the less life it will have overall.

Do you recommend any 6v?

Crown and Trojan are good ones

Sure you can
