The sharks around Bimini have learned that at night to come into the marina area, especially the North Bimini marinas, to get all the scraps. The sharks will love you for cleaning the fish at sea!
Unless you plan on trolling, all you will need is a light/medium rod with a spinning reel and 15lb test. Basically whatever you would use for most big lake fishing will work. Yellow tail snapper are good eating, easy to catch, and all over the reefs. There is one resteraunt around me that has insanely good seafood. Everything else seems to be frozen garbage. We try to go when they have the swordfish special, but I love the salmon too. We always get a calimari app (her choice) and crab dip app (mine).
Since I am prepping for next year, what do I really want to fish for? We plan on doing as much sightseeing as possible but if we are chilling out somewhere drop a line.
We were talking at work it hit me there is another reason to go to Bimini asap, global warming and sea level rising. Bimini at most is about 10' above sea level and if sea levels rise Bimini will disappear like Atlantis. All the more reason I need to go asap!
wife actually started the "money can be used elsewhere" speach last night.
I shut it down with the "you never hear anyone say they wish they spent less time on vacation or less time with their wives speach. I won.
Not sure about Bimini, but Filleting on the boat is against the law down here. The Game Warden has issues not being able to see how big your fish was
Finally got my rod holders installed for the trip.. got 2 per side, 2 side facing and 2 rear facing to troll with..
Nice install, however you may want to look into a couple rod holders for your tower...
you are going to want some vertical distance between you trolling rods.
That way you can help prevent lines getting tangled. Take a look at Jeff's Rod holders on his tower. We used these on the two lines that were further away from the boat.
we run the same spread off the ass end of a 30' center console and they never get tangled..
Thanks, I appreciate it.....Viveca has you listed as part of our group with a confirmed reservation. But I would call to confirm that you have the condo that you want.

Great minds think a like, I use the same ones and have post links to those in various threads. I added an extra set of flag clips to each pole so I can fly two flags per pole. Was talking to @Bruce about flag options for my new boat and mentioned that last year I used fishing rod holder flagpoles. He asked me to post a link here they are if anybody wants them. This is a local guy in Florida & they work well.

Here is a good thread on how to make your own flag poles, https://jetboaters.net/threads/air-head-flag-holder.5370/#post-92162Was talking to @Bruce about flag options for my new boat and mentioned that last year I used fishing rod holder flagpoles. Come on, I'm flying the Jetboaters.net flag, what do you want. The starboard pole has the American flag and the South Carolina State flag.Looks good @andy07sx230ho , except for your choice in flags
