BOATING MAGAZINE SPECIAL REPORT BEWARE COMPOLYSIS!

Hahaha they got me. I was actually quite worried there for a bit!

This is the worst problem a boat can have. My hull looks like it's breaking up at the molecular level now. I am calling Yamaha !

Wouldn't the same thing happen to surf boards?
I'm much more worried about Ethanol additives in my fuel.

From my understanding, the molecular composition of a surfboard is vastly different than that of a boat hull.

Dont believe this affects our boat. Yamaha is made in a mold
they are not hand laid. Plus , in all the years of yamaha boats never heard anyone speak of an issue. Relax and enjoy your summer.

Yes, they are made in a mold but they are not vac bagged. Have you seen the video. . . . they make an extremely valid argument.

Yeah I know vastly different.
Just saying. Fiberglass encased foam..
But hey if it is true..we all get new boats! Lol

Yes - I'm a lawyer and can't wait until the cases start rolling in!

Would this be a group buy? We all would love a lawyer in our pocket. Lol

30% of a class action for a few thousand boats valued new at $40K on average. . . . . .Thats a nice payday. Can I file an Amicus Curiae? ;)

Well we get a good 70% off on group buys right? Isn't that a rule or something? But yes free is better.

I did see that as long as you keep your boat out if the water. you will be fine.

Hmmmm all I saw was a black screen with nothing on it. Got my curiosity up as I have heard of a lot of sea doo skies delaminating and I had lots of issues with the 2010 yamaha delaminating real badly . I had to learn all about special epoxies and glass without talcum powder to repair the hull. So far the 2013 isn't doing what the 2010 did. thank goodness.

Yeah I've heard said the seadoo and Yamaha skis had the largest issues. Quite revealing that video report.

Well I don't want to take any chances so I just got back from trading in my skies for a great new aluminum pontoon boat . Heck if you wait you won't get any money for your inferior boat hulls and the land fill charges a huge fees to dump them. Even has a slide for the 11 grandkids

I've heard that putting vaseline on your exposed fiberglass then sprinkling baby powder on it reduces the delamination coefficient. Our marina is planning to set up a crane to dip boats in both....anyone else getting this done?

Actually the dealer tried to tell me you can put acrylic floor wax on the hull to reverse the deterioration of the hull caused by the solar rays disrupting the molecular bond.
They claimed that the acrylic will block the harmful rays working similar to sun screen for fiberglass etc.
And adding some iodine to it doubles it's effect.

Feb04523.JPG Well it's a big jump from skies to a pontoon boat so I spent all day custom building skies to run parallel to the pontoons to give it less drag and better handling.

Should corner just like it has a pair or Venom Ultimates. . . . . . ;)
