BoatUS vs Statefarm

got 2 quotes for my new 2021 195s which i dont have yet. BoatUS was $633 annually. State farm who insures everything for me was literally twice as much coming in at $1233. They (State farm) questioned the "agreed hull value" on the BoatUS policy. Insinuating that we wouldnt be paid in full for total loss. None the less BoatUS is covered for the total amount of the boat. Plus towing. No brainer right? what am I missing? State farm pays you back for towing. I just don't want to be shorted on the back end.

I just had the opposite experience. BoatUS quoted $1200 vs $540 for State Farm. The coverage was nearly identical.

thats crazy. wonder why. we had to drop statefarm for our johnboat too and go with gieco/ boatUS. State farm just expensive here i rekon.

I had BoatUS last year, $450 for the year for SX190. Went with SkiSafe this year, better coverage and full year coverage was $200.

Not sure why the difference between Boat & SF, but between members location has a lot to do with cost. We're about $550 for an '18 242x with strong coverage, but we're in MN so it's a half season for insurance really.

I've got State Farm - $960 full boat coverage + $7000 worth of equipment (stereo system) too. $250 deductible. Recently had to open a claim due to some hull damage and they've been, so far, a pleasure to work with.

I just cut min in half moving from Allstate to Farmers/Foremost....and added additional $500K liability. I had been with Allstate for years. I guess they count on you being complacent.

I used travelers. It was ~450/year.

My 210 FSH. BOATUS. Was $1200 a year, State Farm was $641, and Nationwide is $610.
That’s with a $500 deductible, full price of the boat and upgrades $55,000, and $2500 of fishing gear. Sold!

For me, Boat US / Geico is $338 for 34K agreed value plus 1.5 K for trailer with $340 deductible with 3K towing/assistance and 500K liability (the floor of my umbrella policy) - covers all inland and coastal US waters (~70 miles out to sea).

Aaron Rodgers cost alot, hence overpriced State Farm, at least in the DMV. By far one of the most expensive insurers in this locale. Ever here of Erie? Probably not. They don't advertise and don't insure high risk people. Very competitive pricing.
