Carpenter bee problem...

Ugh, I painted all the wood with deck restorer paint, filled the old holes with wood putty, put out bowls of vinegar, swung at them with a whiffle ball bat... :(

They just keep coming back. Maybe spraying the exposed wood with plasti-dip or something would deter them?
Dang, I was going to suggest wiffle bat as a joke. But you really did and to no success. Maybe electric bug swatter.

Maybe switch to Ultimate Bunk Boards. They have their pluses and minuses though too. You could also put carpet over the UBB's
I was surprised to find these f'ers were boring into my engineered lumber decking....I thought they would't like it...but seems they'll chew pretty much anything! Still think just putting carpeting over the exposed wood is the simplist solution.

Well...What's your batting average?

I've gotten three. :punch: I won't mention how long I was swatting around the yard at seemingly invisible things. Maybe that's why the neighbors have been standoffish...

I think @Noko has the solution in his avitar. :)

Im building a bunch of them traps tomorrow.

WD-40 works wonders on the holes, just hope you don't get wood peckers after the larvae!! The side of my house looked like someone took a tommy gun below my gutters where a wood pecker was after the larvae!! Used the brown bags which help a little but they are really bad here in Tennessee.

You all just need to move to the Pacific Northwest. We don't these issues!

When I catch some in that little trap I'll send em out to ya @bobbie. :)
