Yeah re-reading my post I was definitely not meaning to bash the Avenger. By coincidence there was a brand new sea fox commander (same hull) at the ramp the day I sea trialed the Robalo. It was grey hull with the black powder coated t top and was damn good looking. Guy had just took delivery. My salesman was probably frustrated at how much I was chatting that guy up. Ultimately the deciding factor for me was the fact that since I sold my boat I have been fishing with my friend quite a bit and that was main factor. Had it not been for wanting more of a fishing specific boat the Avenger was on the short list. The value is hard to beat in today’s ridiculous boat market, resell be damned. And I agree CC boats definitely getting more family friendly for the sandbar/cruising/tubing demand.

As far as market longevity of the Avenger/LXF style the only thing that made me nervous was the fact Sea Hunt had their 24ft Edge model. Only had it a few years and then discontinued it. Maybe 2014-2018? And now they don’t offer that style anymore. Not trying to be Debbie-downer just one of my concerns as they sell a lot of boats and that style wasn’t worth their time.
If Yamaha had a 24-25ft CC I would be posting pics of that. I think that Avenger/LXF layout in a 24ft Yamaha jet would sell like hotcakes (at least at my house anyway). ;)

I didn’t take it that way. You are probably 100% correct which is also why there are not a lot of those type models out there. Hell I wish everyone would hate them immediately so they would quickly depreciate allowing me to feel comfortable purchasing one haha. If fishing a decent amount I wouldn’t even consider it and go the direction you did. I have a co-worker that bought a Robalo in 2017 and speaks very highly of it. I’d be surprised if you aren’t happy with yours. Boat prices are crazy and the used market is amusing. Some of the jet boat listings I see get posted are unbelievable IMO. Heck Im just going to buy whatever I get the best deal on. Hopefully one will come along soon as we just want to be on the water floating.

I find most fishermen want company, if you have a boat your already in the ”club” so it helps a lot. I have found if you see 1 person on a fishing boat and talk a little bit to them, and have a boat so they don’t just think you want a boat ride. They will ask you to go fishing. If you also pay for gas and are not a ass, you can go fishing more than your family who is on the non fishing boat will allow you. A boat that is set up to fish is just better for it. If I fished a lot I would buy a old Mako with a fish box in front on the console and a huge bait cutting board screwed to the top of that. It would be in need of a paint job smell like the sea and I bet my old lady would not want to set foot in it. Perfect!!!21C5D84C-B974-449E-B84C-B1FD4AB1ACB1.jpeg

From there it’s 45 miles north to bear mountain/West Point or 9 miles south to the Statue of Liberty. I usually run north to avoid the ferry traffic. The ferries around here kick up 4-5 ft wakes without care.
No kidding. Staten Island ferry does throw 4-5ft wake - and it's a tightly spaced 3-4-wave-barrage with an impossible 2-3sec period in between.
Sitting in a 240 yammie - power up and take it head on or... get rolled over, lol. I'm thankful for the self bailing deck.

This Admiral's Launch, built by the US Navy would plow right thru that wake. Not a CC but it looks nice at that age. US Navy Admiral's Launch - Our Listings - Bruce Hill Yacht Sales

We are literally running out the door to the GWB hazzard ramp to enjoy another day in NYC harbor, probably too rough today to venture out the bay, boat already hooked up.

That Admirals Launch is AMAZING. It is a beauty and a dream. But... I bet mighty awkward to trailer, would need a bigger backyard, too, lol.
So crazy though, we are trying to negotiate a PH Parker purchase thats... north of that listing... Things are nuts if you ask me, aren't they?

This is too far North most likely for that vintage, but it looks like a nice refit/upgrade. No trailer with this one either. ;)
The problem with 53' is, no bow thruster seen. Otherwise a nice looking live aboard yacht.
