So when going out with new people or even the wife, they seem to have trouble getting the fenders right for the dock and tide. So..... i went out and bought webbing and clips and now they have no excuse. Just clip it and single pull to adjust height! Not saying I would use this for overnight and etc but simple loading and etc seems pretty clutch

Thats Great. I did the exact same thing for the same reason. Makes it quicker and easier.

I did a similar thing with some clips that hang on my windows, etc. But on my boat the fender lines needed to be at different lengths, so I labeled each fender (aft, mid, fore) so those noobs still could help.

Easier is better...

I used red, white and blue for the straps. Red front cleat, white mid cleat, rear blue cleat.

Thats clever.

Where are you guys getting the strapping and clips?

Amazon or West Marine.

I put my wife in charge of fenders. :)

My wife put me in charge of the fenders. And everything else on the boat.

But I still like @HangOutdoors ' idea.

I finally taught my wife and son the clove hitch this past summer, it's my favorite for fenders and can be used horizontally or vertically. I tie one fender to the bow rail (aft toward the windshield) and tie a second fender to the rear tower post. With a little practice its fast and easy, perfect placement front and back, and leaves the cleats open for dock lines.

yea I know a few different ones. I don't have a problem getting them set fast but then I have to leave the helm so this was just super easy. a few docks we use are fixed so with the tides I have to place them at different levels

I’ve got the Yamaha straps that do the same thing. Easy for the wife to adjust at the dock but clove hitch is the way to go.

That is another reason I love the clove hitch for fenders, easy adjustability.

I have a few Danik hooks and use two on the bow rail and mid cleat - they adjust easily for the dock heights with a sliding line and thumb lock. I use a modified clove hitch for the tower and a short line for the stern fender on the cleat. The Danik's clip on like a carabiner so they're very fast to put on and remove. I do the bow fender and dock line, mid cleat and tower while my wife puts on the rear dock line and rear fender. Takes longer to get them out of the locker than it does to put them on.
:D

I have the stainless steel Danik hooks, didn't like the way the were clanging against the boat and possibly scratch or chip the fiberglass, switched back to the straps. plus it is much easier to throw a fender with a strap on it to someone from bow to the stern without the heavier hook on them. At some docks I use the tower since the cleat doesn't work out, especially the dumb ass low cleat in the rear and the straps are perfect for that and keeps the metal away from the powder coat.

This is timely, I just bought a set of fenders/accessories yesterday since Wholesale Marine had a $20 off $100 coupon. Got a pair of THESE FENDERS to use with THESE CLIPS. Adjusting the lines should be as easy as just pulling the rope out of the teeth and fitting it back in. Clips will hopefully be able to grab the hand rails, bimini and windshield rail to give a lot of coverage. We'll see though...

@svana Those are interesting. Wonder if they slide back and forth on the grab rail or if they stay where they are clipped?

I'll let you know when I use em lol. Figure if they do, I might be able to line them with a thin rubber or neoprene or something.
