took almost 30sec to evacuate 5 gallons of water.

A 1" pipe with minimal pressure loss and noise will flow at 16 gpm. I think the cockpit drain is roughly 1 inch, and in your test with no pressure and foam will likely slow things down....not surprised. I'll bet with plain water and 15-20mph forward momentum that time will drop to 15 seconds.....

I've wondered about increasing the hose size or adding a 2nd...but only for bimini seems like overkill. I'll have a ballast pump handy if we take a big wave over the bow so we can double the speed.

I don't think that's bad given the conditions. I don't think it's built to quickly drain for sub moves.

This is was what I found on the inside of my drain tube when I changed the original scupper. I get the point of sealing the tube to the fitting; but that pretty much defeated the purpose.

30 seconds to remove 5 gallons is equivalent to 600 gph. So it probably only took @buckbuck's 212x 3 hours to drain.

It was my first sub move. I admit I was a bit concerned. The deck drain system on our boats works very well and will get water off the deck in a hurry. Just make sure the fitting at the drain inlet is sealed as I found mine leaked into the bilge.

You will get water in the engine bay. It may go as deep as the oil filters on a MR-1 engine. I stopped submerging the boat because of my concerns about the wire grommet on the stator does not appear to seal very well. Otherwise I think I would mod my boat with a periscope.

I believe the official Yamaha part number for this part is listed as "hymen" in the service manual.
Needless to say, @buckbuck boat is in the "deflowered" category.

I wished I could find it but there is an older vid on Youtube of a sub move in a jet boat and they actually scooped in a small minnow
