Connext slow and laggy 2019 vs 2020

looked around for similar threads but didn't find anything on this topic. I have a 2019 242x. From day one, the touchscreen seems a little slow or laggy. Bluetooth paring, turning on and off radio things, just overall laggy.

Friend just got a 2020 242 Limited SE, and WOW.. his touchscreen is exactly how I would expect it to work.

Curious if anyone has 2019 or less and have any thoughts on this? Is there firmware/software updates that may fix this?

There is no lag in my 2019 242 SE. Same Connext on X & SE I think ? Sometimes I don't like what it says , like this past weekend when I got the dreaded BCU error , but that's another thread ! No lag however , it gave me the bad news rapidly.

strange.. thanks for the confirmations.. I have my boat scheduled for end of june for the BCU (reverse bucket cable) issue.. Hopefully they can address this at the same time.

Just a thought, my dealer told me it could act that way if I tried to download to large of an area for the maps. Maybe?

The chart plotter function is slow on my 2019 242X - reminds me of the early GPS units we all suction-cupped to our windshields. But other than that screen it runs just fine.

I would definitely ask your dealer to make sure the Connext software is updated to the latest.

Also, I've been told that it's a good idea to turn off the ignition key and wait for the Connext to fully power off before you flip the battery switches. My routine for this is once the lift makes contact with the hull, turn the ignition switch off. Do all of my offloading and securing, and then turn off the battery switches before installing the cover.

@Mjolsen74 , not trying to hijack your thread but just a related question ? Several members on this thread and others with the newer Connext reference making sure that you have the most recent firmware/software update ? I ask my dealer about checking my boat before taking delivery last Sept. They did confirm that my cables were not crossed by the factory so not affected by the recall. They didn't really seem to know there was more than one version / release ? Does anyone really know that there has been an update since the new big screen Connext (2018) and if so how can you tell which version is currently installed on the boat ?
