Considering fsh for first boat

I think it say in the manual, 5 min at 2000, or less, 30 min at 3000, or less, and 1 hour at 6000 or less, then you are good to go. (Going by memory, not near the manual)

That's what my manual says too. I just didn't know if the ecm limited the engine's output electronically as well like some new cars do. Thousands of Yamaha boats go into rental service and likely don't get proper break in. There may be a safeguard programmed in.

That's a main reason I passed on my first FSH during my demo ride. Dealer's demo boat had 4 hours on their "new" boat from test drives. I knew the first thing everyone did was gun it to WFO. Salesmen said sure gun it. When I asked if they had broke it in he just smiled. I smiled back and gunned it to measure dB levels and fuel rate at top speed. And then purchsed another boat with zero hours and broke it in correctly.
