contrasting colors for registration numbers. overthinking?

My registration numbers get questioned about not being contrasting when I have been stopped by marine police . I have a new set but always have other things that need updating and this falls at the end of the to do list.

@BobJohnson I am looking at getting some numbers from Domed Numbers as well. Did you get the straight chrome or chrome with an outline? I am debating between the chrome with white outline or white with chrome outline on my black hull?

@waternutt no outline color. All chrome color, in the chaparral font they sell. Easy to install and although it has been only a year on the boat, they still look great.
