I have been using the shipping cover for a year to trailer 150 miles round trip on weekends and to keep the rain out the while at the campground. All other times my boat is stored in the garage with no cover.

The shipping cover is starting to rip and it is also a pain because it is stiff and the lining picks up leaves and pine needles like a magnet.

I think I want to get a Yamaha mooring cover. The Deluxe Premium is about $60 more than the Premium. I am sure the Deluxe is better but I think the black cover is a disadvantage as it will retain more heat and show bird poop worse.

Does anyone have any experience in comparing the two and what did you decide?

Yamaha Sports Plaza has a decent discount but there is a shipping charge. Is there anywhere else I should compare prices?

Do a search on the boards, I remember last year someone here had a line on selling them cheaper to forum members. Im looking for it for you as well.

@LTM1964 Do the black deluxe premium! I also keep mine in the garage but tow 30 to 45 minutes to the lake and the deluxe premium cover is so easy to use. No lie my wife and I can have it on and snugged up in 2 minutes. Promise you will not regret it. I am only 1 month in with 2016 AR192 and could not imagine having the pretty black cover. It really is worth the money! It also looks awesome on the boat which is always a plus in my book...

photo 1.JPG As you can see it fits like a glove and I tow with poles out.. Good luck!

I've got the premium deluxe and have been very happy with it thus far. I've towed with it on several times with no issues and it is even fairly easy to install while on the water ( not a great pic...it was raining).

I don't tow with poles deployed. I was not able to get indoor storage this year (I think I have finally found a place near my house) so I put the shipping cover over the black cover to give it a little protection while sitting.

I have the gray premium cover and it does the job just fine. This will be season 3 with it and it is still in great shape, although it has stretched a little and will hold a pocket of water in the bow on the port side after heavy rains. I still keep the shipping cover for winter storage. I retreat it at the begining of each season with water repellent. For only $60 more though, I would go for the premium deluxe. I was unaware of the better cover when the dealer sold me mine.

Man that place is beautiful!! Looks like an awesome place to be on the water..

Lake Mitchell in Alabama. It's a quiet lake halfway between Birmingham and Montgomery.

It's really quiet. I've been on that lake on an 86 degree day in June with just big puffy clouds and been utterly alone. It would be eerie if I was the nervous kind.

Man that is my kind of place! Good for the soul...

I would suggest getting a custom cover made with snap downs. Much easier to put on and off, especially if the boat is in the water. I paid about $1200 for mine

I don't own the premium Yamaha cover, but it looks to me, it would be difficult to tighten the strap while the boat is docked.
