Daddy jetboat - USN Spearhead

What is the purpose of the mist in the rear? I was thinking it catches diesel soot so it doesn't coat the rear?
Okay, that was driving me nuts... @Murf'n'surf your speculation led me to it... I think I found the answers:
  • Conceal the heat from the exhaust in the tunnel
  • Help push the exhaust down into the water for better dissolution / quicker cooling of the gases
  • Provide a radar screen
Found it here: http://www.google.com.ar/patents/US20080210149

@Big Shasta, you have a pack of these included with your spare tire cover that is waiting at your house. Perhaps you could hand a few to the crew to help them find our forum.

If Big Shasta is successful engaging the guys on USNS Spearhead, you will have to edit the list of manufacturers on the cards to include Austal USA!

Do all or most Naval vessels pull into port with that display of fire power? Seems odd to me, almost like they had someone or thing of high importance onboard.

Thoughts?

I believe security has increased dramatically since the USS Cole bombing.

Remember that this is not a normal navy vessel. It is a national asset, one of a very few like it. They will treat this similar to an aircraft carrier security wise.

Wasn't there a thread showing stickers and flags in cool locations? I searched but can't find it.

@Big Shasta if I see you this weekend I'll give you a sticker, I have a couple left, and a flag.

When I get my footballs I'll make sure to throw one at them if I see it out here:). Wonder how that will work out?:woot::dead:[flag]

LOL...Yeah, I would probably refrain from throwing small indiscriminate objects at it. They might not come get you to say thanks....they might shoot first and ask questions later. I'm dedicated to this place but that's ridiculous.

@Big Shasta So now your telling me you need three stickers.....lol

"Someone" should have rethought that old thread title in the interest of "OP SEC" Also, thought twice about the pictures "someone" had posted at the beginning of this thread.

LOL...I'll do my best. I cannot confirm or deny if I know where that vessel docks but I will give them a sticker and card (If I happen to see them in port somewhere).

While taking a harbor cruise, I saw the USN Spearhead a couple of years ago in Emerald Isle, NC. Magnificent ship!

That is pretty cool that you can re-task a satellite to take a photo right from the comfort of your own home... Got a pick of the Seafighter in port today...

Uh, just kidding... thanks Google.
