Deposit For 2021 Yamaha and still waiting?

From my understanding, if the boat isn't available where you are located any dealership can sell to you. We have sold many customers out of state models they could not find elsewhere because of the stock we usually receive.
Does Yamaha not have a national list of boats/models that are on deposit and focus production on those, rather than preorder boats for dealers?

They tried to, but some of the supplies just have not been available from their outside suppliers. So instead of waiting for those parts they built what they could on the boat, put it in the parking lot and built whatever they could to get boats to dealerships. From what I know they still have close to 200 boats missing 1 component in their lot.

I new that supply chain was an issue, but didn't realize that it remained as big of a problem as it appears to be. Thanks for your reply.

Yes it is pretty crazy still. We were told that they would be back up to fully operational and all parts that were needed would be in by the end of Oct and that unfortunately has not been the case. I try to keep you guys updated!

Much appreciated.

Why are you able to get boats where other dealers can’t?

so to be fair, it looks like this time, when they said it would get here any day they were correct. the boat i ordered in July got to the dealer friday.

i am exploring finance options now so seems to be coming together at last, now its time to add whatever i am wanting to while I cant use it while its cold.

I question if this is even legal. I am sure even a hair of pressure there could get you the ability to buy where you want.
it probably is a question of if the dealer would be willing to harm the relationship with a dealer to sell one boat. i imagine i would just move on if it was my dealership :)

A lot of marks and some scratching all across the transom, probably from shipping. The soft matting on the transom has a cut in it. The rubber moulding under the windshield kept falling off on the 1100 mile drive home. I already have some rock chips in the hull from highway driving. Oh and the light on my trailer fender went out. Other than that boat is home working on getting it to fit in the garage. They say best 2 days of boat ownership is the day you buy it and the day you sell it. Ha ha

So we have decided to pull our deposit, we're just not going to play the games anymore. The dealer selling our boat out from under us because they could make more money on an off the lot sale was the final straw. I'll be calling Yamaha customer relations this week to let them know what is going on in their dealer network and how they've lost a customer over it (i'm sure they won't care). It's really unfortunate that they've managed to turn what should be a positive experience into one of disappointment. I've never had to work so hard to give someone $80k. We've moved on to explore other boating options that will appreciate their customers

sorry to hear that and good luck. You are absolutely right, Yamaha does not give two fucks.

Sorry to hear that, it really sucks that these issues drove a customer away. Not sure if you mentioned it before, but what was the name of the dealer that did that to you? Might want to give a heads up to other folks doing business with them.

so here is the latest on the finance front. Anyone ever had an issue getting the MSRP paperwork sent to a finance company because its Proprietary?

From southeast Financial who i was getting a quote from, they needed an invoice.

The current list of required documents for loan XXXXXX has been updated. Please review them below:
Purchase Agreement
This document itemizes the unit you are buying and verifies that everything you agreed to buy is listed and correctly priced. This document will be automatically sent to both you and your seller via email upon generating your loan paperwork.

i sent the email to my rep at Park Marine Kennesaw Ga

so the finance place wants the below. I sent them the sheet you sent me but guess thats not it (the sheet is the bill of sale they give you when you put the deposit down)

His reply (park marine salesman)

Because invoices are proprietary information, we can only send those to our partnered lenders. What I can send you is the bill of sale and the MSO (manufactured statement of origin). Please ask your loan officer if that will work without the invoice.
Please keep us informed if they are able to complete the loan for you. Teddy Lee already has you approved and we can move forward after the holiday break. I just need a couple of days to get the boat prepped and schedule my delivery captain to meet you here for a thorough orientation on your new boat.
( now i have heard this about sending information to third parties without my permission but have never heard this when I had obviously and documented by my email, permission)

I forwarded this email to the finance woman at southeast financial

see below, is this the doc you need? (it was the email sent to me by the sales guy at park marine so it had his info)

Her reply (finance woman)

I also reached out to Lee at the dealership and he will not send me what I need. Basically they want you to use their financing. Unfortunately I cannot proceed without the requested documents. I am so sorry about that!

i also called her, she said she has never had an issue getting this form from a dealer, that usually its the first step in coordinating with the dealer if I decide to use them.

Has anyone ever run into this or is this just a Park Marine in GA scam? They did call and imply I needed to hurry and sign as they would be closed until after the holidays after today.

I am really highly tempted to cancel the order and order from someone else, out of state since they apparently have the monopoly.

Wow. Just wow. This is the type of f*%kery I’m talking about. F these dealers. Wait another year or two and there will be a surplus of boats and used Covid ones on the market.

And karma bites them in the a$$... our dealer called us today. The guy they sold our boat to, out from under us, didn’t go through with the deal and asked if we were still interested (still oblivious we had a presale and deposit on it already with a different sales person)... lol what chumps. We told them to take a hike. That’s what you get for playing games.
