Deposit For 2021 Yamaha and still waiting?

I hate to hear all these people waiting for months just to get canceled crazy times I hope the guy that cursed out Matt at Blackbeard marine for getting bad news can see this. You should be ashamed of yourself it’s not Blackbeard’s fault. They lost all kinds of money you just lost a good time

I sorry. Maybe I wasn't clear. I had the same circumstance with my dealer 7-10 days ago. I 'passed' what was called the 'final' round of 2021 Yamaha cuts, and was told that my 2021 boat would 'for sure' be delivered. This recent contact - TODAY - is literally something new and just breaking. Yamaha told my dealer that contrary to their previous 'confirmation,' ALL remaining boats that do not currently have a ship date AND associated invoice are cancelled. Period. Full stop.
Ouch!

Right, we have a refundable deposit on it while the dealer gets more info. The 8-10% is a guess, I haven't heard more than 10% though, thankfully. Frustrating all around, we were "just waiting on a windshield" before it was cancelled. Major bummer.
No doubt. No word from dealer on 212sd. 2 months ago was "confirmed.". Getting less optimistic.

I just got the call. No boat for me. My boat was confirmed 3 week ago. Dealer said 300 orders were canceled and no more 2021s are being produced. Yamaha will not honor 21 pricing. He said they have not been given a time line for 22 production yet. He is hoping to have more information today.

Yamaha does not honor pricing. Those that think they do are misled. Now if the dealer wants to work a deal that is another story.

Yamaha and their dealers are a bunch of A-holes, misleading people by saying their boats will still be delivered and pulling the plug all of a sudden. Now people who wanted to boat this summer are screwed and it will be tough to find a boat anywhere. The stuff I read on this forum about how Yamaha and their dealers treat their customers make me glad I bought another brand.

I just got the bad news from my Dealer. He said Yamaha has stopped the 2021 production and the dealer has pushed me to 2022 waiting list. I had 2021 AR190 order.

Not sure what yamaha will do with all the 2021 boats under construction. Maybe replace the 2021 to 2022 sticker and add a price increase?

Just got the word that my 2021 was canceled low on the list for 2022.

I can understand the frustration. All dealers aren’t made the same. My dealer is top notch and is making the best of the hand they’ve been dealt by COVID. It’s not just Yamaha, all boat manufacturers are experiencing issues to varying degrees.

IMHO, probably the only thing Yamaha did wrong was lack of communication. Or perhaps there was communication and Dealers spun it a different way. Also their QC is not that good!

it is taking Plygem, 38 weeks to produce a window now... its just the times we live in

I work in manufacturing. The supply chain issues are real. Honestly at this point I’ll be surprised if we still have a country in 2022 or 2023. We are so dependent on others.

I hope all this has taught us one thing. We can no longer be 99.99999% dependent on foreign goods. If we want to have a viable, strong economy and country then we must get back to making goods in the US. Prices are going to rise. I’d rather pay more if it means it was made in the USA than anywhere else in the world. That is what it will take. Our goods will cost more but in the end it’s for the betterment of our country and lifestyle.

Hate it for y’all but just know that people that are in the manufacturing industry are doing their best to keep lights on, doors open, feeding families and employees employed. It is tough AF right now and worst I have ever seen in my lifetime at the plant.

I engineer automation systems for a living and we are experiencing long lead times. In my proposals I am putting a line in that says we can't guarantee when systems will be finished. I guarantee that we will start seeing critical infrastructure systems going down with no way to fix them because of part shortages.

Same here. I’m in the fire protection industry and it’s unreal everything that we’ve been up against this year. Makes you question is this is by intention at times but I won’t get into that. It’s unprecedented that’s for sure and very nervous/cautious for the future. Honestly a new boat is a first world problem. There are some serious things wrong with what is going on and brewing. It is not “just a windshield or a dash piece”. It’s down to the single component level as in the nylon yarn that is used to reinforce fire hoses. The same yarns that are used in ....tires. It could be the rubber molding they need to finish the windshield but they can’t make the rubber because they are waiting on one ingredient for the rubber compound. I could go on and on about how rough this year has been for manufacturing. We have such a fragile economy that is solely dependent on foreign countries goods. Can’t say people didn’t warn one day this would come to a head, yet here we are.

Damn, @603jetboater you were the guy in front of me! I got a call from Irwin yesterday telling me my 2021 212XD order (#2 of 2 they had committed) was canceled. I hope you’re still getting yours!
Nope ours got cancelled too. We are bummed we have our surf gear sitting in the garage steering us down. We are being bumped to the top of the 22 list also. But this left a bad taste in our mouth with Yamaha but not Irwin. So we aren’t sure what we are going to do especially if there is a major price increase.

I work in oil and gas service side and we can’t get components made of brass. There is a huge shortage in CDL drives to drive the work over rigs to locations so we can work on the wells that are down. Rigs are just setting there with tons of work to do but no hands to do the work. We could see 5 to 6 dollar gas by the end of the year. 150 to 300 dollars a barrel. It’s 75 dollar a barrel right now. That’s enough for just about any production company to make money. Any higher then 80 a barrel hurts the economy.

Well Yamaha cancelled my order today. I'm having a Chevy Chase Christmas Vacation style fit. Granted the used market is where it is, but I've passed on a number of OK deals in this market to fulfill my end of the obligation and they cancel this late in the game? What's worse is that 10 days ago, the Yamaha rep confirmed we would get our boat. So I held on again. Yamaha should be making these calls with the dealer. Yamaha didn't even offer me a jelly of the month club membership. I'm going to go ahead and order from anybody else at this point.
