Gorgeous day today out around Emerald Isle on our 21’ FSH 195

hooked something huge that I fought for about 45 minutes then lost. 3 miles or so offshore in about 53 feet of water. Most likely a big shark, but it was fun.

unfortunately not this time. Had the mother in law with us and just wanted to enjoy the day. Kinda wished my wife had got me fighting that fish on the other end of my line. Hardest fight with a fish I’ve ever had. Must’ve been a big shark…. The only thing I could think would’ve been where we were at. Caught a smaller shark there before and saw some big ones too.

Love Emerald Isle. Jealous I’m not there now.

It's my wife's favorite place to take our boat. The drive isn't terrible, but still over 2 hours each way. We've done day trips, but prefer to stay the night so we don't feel rushed.
