EZ Dock

I will leave it in the water every other year

Every OTHER year????

Be careful with the silicon. I did that to my lift and the boat just moves all around and wouldn't stay on it. My suggestion is use a little and try it before you do the whole area. One question I have is how does this work when you have lots of people? Do they get on first or what works best?

The people down here pull them in the winter and power wash them ... some times the protected waters here freeze. Does you set up have some type of bubbler system (like large sail boats use) to keep it from being damaged by ice?

They believe I will be fine with the silicone. I also have bottom paint on the boat which causes a little more friction

Yeah we have a bubbles system in my marina, we may just pull the dock every year. Not too sure yet

Didn't know about the bubble systems and wondered about freeze there

Love the idea. Currently using an "AirDock" and while it has its issues, I have to wonder about this also.
When you drive on, what prevents it from sliding back in, before you can get a line on the bow eye? Can you winch the boat completely on, if you had to? Like, if the boat was not running, and you needed to get it in your slip? Load passengers before or after you launch off the dock? Looks like you really shake your neighbors boats when launching and powering on. Not sure my neighbors would tolerate that lol.

Im not happy with how it shakes my neighbors, i am lubricating the bunks today so i dont have to use much gas to get on and off, also i havent had a ptoblem with it sliding back. But i do feel i will after lubricating the dock today

When do you load the passengers and how does that work for you?

I'm installing the ez-dock 3000 next week for my 165HOI and the dealer said most people leave them in the water in the winter, they are very resilient to freezing water especially if there is a bubbler system. I plan on asking around for more opinions. The marina has over 300 wave runner floaters and the never pull them in winter, never had any freezing damage and the marina freezes over.

"I purchased an EZ Dock #3 floating lift for my new Yamaha FX SHO. After the first year I developed a hole in the hull right where the rollers met the hull. The Waverunner sank in the lake and the dealer thought the craft was totaled. Unfortunately the insurance company forced them to repair it. I traded it in for a new FX SHO.

Guess what!

My new Waverunner developed a hole in the hull right where the rollers touched the hull. I found the hole while it was sinking in the middle of the lake again.
Again the insurance company repaired the craft.
So now I'm checking the hull ever time I remove the PWC off the EZ Dock. After a few months the hull started breaking down again. I brought it back to the fiberglass repair company and he shows me the starboard and port side are breaking down.
I had both sides of the hull repaired. And purchased a brand new Shore Station boat lift for my Waverunner.
Has anyone else had a similar situation? EZ Dock sent someone to look at the dock and said its not there problem."

I wasn't allowed to put in a lift. Putting in the EZ Dock was a stretch. My town has strict regulations.

Sunstream lifts are great. I have one under my 25' Cobalt

I would wager the hull is thin being it is a performance model. I would not say it is the dock at fault rather a thin hull. Typically in performance models they will run a thinner hull to shed weight in favor of the performance.

I bought my ezdock from the biggest Yamaha dealer in my area and he said that the docks are so solid it'll damage your boat before you damage the dock. With that being said Yamaha boats have very very thin hulls so I'm sure the jetskiis are similar. The hull is the main reason I didn't buy a Yamaha

For what it's worth, I spoke with Yamaha and they claim that while the hulls weight has decreased from past models, the "nano cell hull" is actually stronger. The owner of EZ Dock, Dick Moe, sold me on the convenience factor of a floating dock. He also told me the #3 model was developed specifically for my 3 seater PWC. I don't think they did there R&D. I obviously agree that the EZ Dock is bullet proof. It still looks like the day I bought it. Unfortunately I would not recommend it for use on any watercraft. I keep my A25 Colbalt on a Sunstream lift and it hasn't even scuffed the bottom of the boat. There's a big difference between gently lifting a boat out of the water with a lift and basically beaching a boat eveytime you dock.
