F150 deisel anyone own one?

Hi everyone, I have a 2018 diesel F150 and I love it. I have had it for about 6k miles and I love it so far. I did a lot of research before buying it and I read a lot on various forums pro and con. For me, it came down to just wanting a diesel. It does do great on mileage and it has plenty of power for me. I know the 3.5EB has more power but it does drink more gas. I haven't done the math to see which is cheaper to operate (diesel costs more up front and per gallon, but uses less fuel) and I don't really care either way. I've just always wanted a power stroke ford and never really needed an f250. This truck makes sense for me. No hate on the 3.5EB though, I know that is a great engine.

You do you

After daily driving diesels for 20+yrs I went back to a gas truck. Yeah, I don't have the torque that I've been accustom to but my truck I have now still gets the job done. I wanted to get away from the emissions equipment that is very problematic. I work on equipment daily and is all I know is that it's a lot easier, quicker and cheaper getting an older diesel fixed than a newer one. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE diesel engines but when your on the maintenance end you look at things a little different.

Interesting you should mention that. When getting my current truck (2019 Ram 1500, 5.7l Hemi), I asked the semi driver we use for the high school band about getting a diesel. He said he would not get any manufacturer's diesel in a pickup these days. Said they have tried to cram too much into too little space and they were nearly impossible to work on. Each problem would cost you a lot, or if you fixed it yourself it would be a real pain.

Anyway, very happy with my Ram, so it all worked out.

As far as 3.5 EB vs 3.0 PS fueling goes, the biggest downfall to the EB is that in order to get the mpg and power ratings, you need premium.
Although it should be obvious, the other dirty little secret is that if you want to get those advertised MPG, you cannot use the turbos. Once you use them, or start towing, the MPG goes down precipitously. I loved driving with the boost, so yeah I ended up with mileage similar to my Tundra.
