Fair? (Stereo install fee)

dam!!! I went to grad school for nothing

You can only crawl around and be upside in cars for so long. Of course it can be very lucrative if you can run your own shop, keep costs low, and maintain steady business. Full-time installers also rarely work less than 45-50 hours a week. Come Christmas time, expect to put in 80+ hour weeks. And then you have to deal with the headache of people blaming you for a chip in their roof when you installed a radio.

Friend with benefits! I hope we are still talking about a stereo install!:D
The moment I typed it, I knew it read funny, but I was predominately referring to the stereo.

I have some friends ( very few unfortunately ) which we have our own socialistic society. Where we do for each other whatever we are efficient at and eliminate the middleman. No money, just unspeakable R-rates jokes and infuriating political comments.

There always someone on here that not capable of making sense really always off the topic.

Lol know we no why you have no friends and always correcting yourself at the last minute when you say the wrong thing in the beginning again no sense.

Lol yea rite always responding to the opposite that's why they call him the Greek god opposite.

I would find out what Best Buy or a local shop charges by the hour, take 20% or so off since he is not a pro and you are not getting a warranty on the work and pay him for the time on task.

I too dislike the situation. If I am willing to do it for free that is what I say or I ask them to buy me and sometimes my wife dinner (sit down not drive through) otherwise I throw out a price and the rationale for it whenever possible.

" you want answers?"
"I think I am entitled to"
" you want answers?"
" I want the truth"
"you can't handle the truth "
"Son, we live in a world where friends have to come with Benefits or B*lls"

and this the main reason why I have a few good men-friends.

I have a feeling this will not make any sense either, but I felt obligated to address my loneliness in life.

PS. dont think of it as a correction but more like adding flavor to an provocative statement. Kind of like adding salt to the injury

Oxymoron? ;)

I kid of course, but it is a pretty debateable topic.
Yes very debatable, I knew when I wrote that reply that I should of specified but I did not want to get into a long post. To clarify my reply which is still debatable, I always solder the stands together before crimping on a connector and then put heat shrink over it.

You make sure you solder the individual strands right?

So I talked to him today and he said $200 was a fair price. He didn’t want to give me a price. I told him that I didn’t want to lowball him. Forgot to tell you guys that he is an ex mastercraft tech.

Isn't the purpose of a friend to help each other out when they can and have a few laughs? Friends look for opportunities like this to share time together, not to be paid for services. I recommend that folks keep business to a professional arrangement.
