What are you guys and gals tying your fenders to? On my 190 there really isn't an obvious spot. I can use the rear "oh shit" handle but I can't find a spot in the middle. The cleats seem too close to the rub rail to be able to tie anything to it.

Any help would be appreciated.

What @Johmas50 said and/or I've seen some suction cup ones at West Marine.

I use stowawayboatfenders.
I purchased the medium kit. I don't use my fenders a ton so the fact they store well is a huge plus. When in use they work great. The strap included on each one allows you to hang it from almost anywhere off your boat. I don't know if they would work well for a boat that sits in a wet slip for long periods. You would want to get something a little softer or puchase covers to avoid hull rash.

I use a modified Quick-Release Bimini Top Hinge placed a few feet aft of my middle cleat on top of the rail at the end of the windshield. It works like a charm. Very low profile, nothing to snag when not in use.
No tying, no fumbling with cleats. The line just pops in. Press the button and it pops right out.

I modified the male part by removing the screw and sliding a ring through the screw holes for the line from the fender to pass through. The small male part lives on the end of the fender line.

This way the fender is always at the exact height and right position. I keep this fender behind my seat and I can put it in place in about 2.5 seconds.

How about posting up a pic of the profile of the boat? And the interior of the boat to help with what you may use there. You have many options I am sure and may find cleats are the last place you use for fenders. On my 230 and now on my 240, I only use one cleat in the middle, I use the bow grab rail and the "oh shit" grab rail on the gunwale in the corner cockpit seats. The aft cleats are much too far back as are the bow cleats, so those are for dock lines, not for fenders. There are a number of pop up solutions similar to what @Glassman posted, as well as dedicated fender locks that are similar to cleats but they are flush and you attach a latch to the fender and just hook to the flush mount when needed.

I also use kwik loks fender connections and love them. I have them on all 6 of my fenders and have 5 or 6 spares. They break easily if your pulling on them when pulling in or out of a slip. But they are a good solution too.

I installed Taylor fender locks. The fenders click on and off the boat in seconds. The whip is pre measured and I have one marked bow and the other stern. In seconds we are ready to dock, Love them but not cheap.

I had a fender "Pop" over the weekend. I hate when that happens. :(

Any deals around town? Otherwise I'm going shopping....

@Glassman If they are Taylor Made they have a lifetime warranty supposedly. Not sure if that helps or not in your case.

I tried those and after a day on Salt water they did not stick to the windshield or hull

Interesting. If (when) I head to the coast, I'll be sure to not be lazy and just tie mine up then!

I would like to see how you installed that on top of the rail. This sounds like a great idea.

I have a tower and usually tie off one to the front tower mounting point and on to the rear grab handle.
