Fire stick with Kodi app

1. What are your internet speeds
2. which Generation of firestick are you using
3. Which Add-on are you using to stream your movies

Speed is 28-30 down
The Stick is 2 years old
I'm using Ares Wizard-Pulse and tried 5-6 add ons some play choppy and some don't play at all.

First generation firesticks always had lag / buffering issues. Seems like you have the first gen. If the remote doesn't have the Alexa Voice button, you have the first gen. Not much you can do unless you get either an android box or a second gen firestick which are much faster

also Exodus is dead. you should use Covenant for the movies and shows

Hey guys, I sell them. I install Kodi on them. I also have android boxes that I program as well.

Basically the differences are the following

Firesticks

Dual Core Processor
1 GB Ram
No ethernet port. Only Wifi
No USB Ports to connect Keyboards and mouse

Android Boxes

Quad Core Processor
2GB Ram
Ethernet Port and Wifi
2 USB Ports
Sd Card slot

I program so you can watch all the movies ( including in the movie theatre ), All TV Shows, Sports, Porn ETC

Hey I'm in the process of cutting my Comcast cable completely. I love my Velocity channel (Car Shows), AMC, and a few others, can this all be watched on a Gbox2 when I cut cable completely?

I have recently cut the cord and am using PS Vue which includes about all the channels I was watching with DirectTV. I got the $45 dollar package and am using FireTV boxes and sticks. For the 2 local channels that I do not get through PS Vue, I use HDHomerun with an antenna to stream locals to any device. For HBO shows and movies in general I use Kodi with the Beast build but have most recently been using the Terrarium TV apk which is been working great for me. This set up is saving me at least 100 a month.

@GeniusGio you should be able to find those channels but the reliability and quality of the stream might not be that great hence the reason I went with PS Vue to appease the wife and kids.

So i am messing with builds now I did unleashed with 17.4rc and nordvpn

Like so far

Hey buddy, sorry for the delay in answering, but Im in florida and Hurricane Irma is coming right for us.

To answer your question, All shows from AMC are in Addons such as Covenant. Live channels are a bit harder to maintain ( Live streams ) but all shows from popular networks are all readily available

How do you like the PS Vue with the FireTV? I use mainly Roku's with PS Vue and do not like the interface as much as my Firestick or more so the PC version. I am thinking of adding a FireTV but not sure how much better the interface will be. Is it similar to the PC version or firestick? Thanks

@96Pirate I like the FireTV box. It is just the like the FireTV stick but faster. I use the FireTV Box on my main tv and FireTV sticks on my bedroom and bonus room tvs. I have not tried a Roku with PS Vue but have heard the interface is not the greatest.

Im about ready to dump cable. Xfinity has me for $220 /mo. I think thats insane for our needs. We don't watch TV all day, so its on from maybe 5pm for the kids, then we can sit down from 8-10 to watch TV. My wife is worried about losing the kids programs, and the DVR-ability of a few HGTV shows she watches. I have to learn more about this, sounds like I could just update my internet service and pay only $50/mo. to watch TV?

Thanks @cozilla I will be picking up a FireTV to give it a shot.

Sounds like you need to buy your own $60 modem and stop renting for $10/month, dump the premium networks like hbo, showtime and etc, get rid of all hd boxes except your main watching area and put the cheap (less channel) boxes in the bedrooms, and ditch their DVR service and fancy bells and whistles/talk into your remote like a fool service. Do all that and you are down to just under $100 before the insane taxes on that crap.

What is the latest and greatest app for kodi for 2018?
Covenant seems to not be working. It works on one tv and not the other.

Also the Sony smart tv's are awesome for kodi. No extra box needed

KOdi has been unreliable as of late, Placenta has been one I have seen working. and +1 for the Sony tv

Yup. Placenta is the best thing going right now.

I have a 2 year old fire stick with kodi on it that you can have (it's a brick now :)) I think it was an update that did it, but not a fan not only for general overall complexity, but also not fully comfortable having this device active on my network with potential unsecure kodi apps.

I've been doing this for 7 years now:

PSVue has the best experience for us with guide and dvr, but there is a cost. There are a lot of factors to consider with goals like "free", dvr, remote/mobile access, etc... Tivo and over the best "free" TV experience and I think PSVue is good for guide/dvr and SlingTV is good for mobile/remote. Overall best value for device would be FireTV Stick.

I've been happy with DirectTV Now since it's launch. I use FireSticks for two TVs and AppleTV for the other two. My only complaint is they haven't brought in local affiliates for NBC or CBS yet. Once that is done, there will be nothing to complain about.
