Forum Theme Song Nominations

I believe this song is really about her friend that commits suicide after her husband dies at war or something similar. Very sad song. It's how I feel all winter. Listen to it at least once a week, and the fact that it calls it Summertime Sadness really nails it on the head! Can't wait for the wife to put on that red dress, we hit the water and go to the fancy restaurant here on the lake. Until then, it's a Summertime Sadness...

Love this song

This is always a classic... (Not Safe For Work NSFW Added by Bruce)

I have always liked that song, but I prefer this video... (Again NSFW Not safe for work, vulgar language. And if you don't like seeing women in small bikinis you probably shouldn't watch this)

And it's not available on phones... But it's worth finding a computer to watch it!

@Sheboat that gets my vote! Combines my love of what some now call an "oldie" with a new band and love of boating!!!

I'm a big fan of "All Summer Long" Sheboat!

The one song I can't find a good video on my phone tonight might make me an official Parrothead, but Jimmy Buffett's "One Particular Harbor" reminds me of why I boat, how fast life goes by and of all the great friends I have made/ good times I have had boating:

Ia Ora Te Natura
E Mea Arofa Teie Ao Nei
Ia Ora Te Natura
E Mea Arofa Teie Ao Nei

Nature lives (life to nature)
Have pity for the Earth
(Love the Earth)

I know I don't get there often enough
But God knows I surely try
It's a magic kind of medicine
That no doctor could prescribe

I used to rule my world from a pay phone
And ships out on the sea
But now times are rough
And I got too much stuff
Can't explain the likes of me

But there's this one particular harbour
So far but yet so near
Where I see the days as they fade away
And finally disappear

But now I think about the good times
Down in the Caribbean sunshine
In my younger days I was so bad
Laughin' about all the fun we had

I've seen enough to feel the world spin
Mixin' different oceans meetin' cousins
Listen to the drummers and the night sounds
Listen to the singers make the world go 'round

Ia Ora Te Natura
E Mea Arofa Teie Ao Nei
Ia Ora Te Natura
E Mea Arofa Teie Ao Nei

Lakes below the mountains
Flow into the sea
Like oils applied to canvas
They permeate through me

And there's that one particular harbour
Sheltered from the wind
Where the children play on the shore each day
And all are safe within

Most mysterious calling harbour
So far but yet so near
I can see the day when my hair's full gray
And I finally disappear

Ia Ora Te Natura
E Mea Arofa Teie Ao Nei
Ia Ora Te Natura
E Mea Arofa Teie Ao Nei

Ua Pau Te Maitai No Te Fenua
Re Zai Noa Ra Te Ora O Te Mitie

Bounty of the land is exhausted
But there's still abundance on the sea

It's ok to be a Parrothead. We love Jimmy too! Nobody gets me more in the mood for the summer, the beach, and boating then Buffett.

I kind of like these...

Me and the boys have worn this out a few times heading back from a raftup at night! Give it to at least the 40 second mark!!

I know this is about pontoon but it captures the spirit of being on the water.

This one is always a staple for every boat outing.

@redthumper9 ... that song brings back some memories!! My wife and I had the good fortune to go to Australia and I looked up and saw the Southern Cross. Was one of the highlights of our trip!!

I agree with Cheryl.....or Margaritaville

How about 'Happy'

I love that song, there is even a 24 hour "Happy" youtube channel. I am sure I will be sick of it by the end of summer, but for now it makes me HAPPY! :winkingthumbsup"

Come on guys/gals, after all we are running jets here. What else could it be?

AGREED!!!! This one gets my vote before I even came across this post... I was looking to see what was already posted before I added it. Its our theme song whenever we go out on the lake. This starts and I hammer the throttles for the duration of the song... Anyone who has ever been on our boat hears it and grabs hold of something. Its either this one or the main theme from the movie, which is a perfect ending song on the water as the sun sets and you head back to the ramp...

@ratchetdu ... you make a very good point and I do love that movie!! I feel the need...
