Going from bigger to smaller?

I’m OK with the bow cover but the larger one that covers the helm and stern areas gets tight. On Saturday I tried starting with the snaps in front of the helm and then working my way clockwise until I got the starboard side so I could get the last snaps while standing on the dock. Yesterday I started at the windshield on both sides and tried to work my way back to the stern by alternating one snap per side thinking that it may keep the tension centered.

Both of the patterns eft me with some really tight snaps at the end of each sequence.

My problem might just be that my hands are getting a bit arthritic - I’m no spring chicken. :)
