Has anyone tried Kite Tubing?

You just uncorked a huge controversy with many opinions. Long story short, they are illegal. If you own one you're supposed to cut the valve off and mail it to Sevylor for a complete refund.

They can break your neck. Some still use them and say their fun. Others say stay away.

I thought it was illegal to sell those now?

I think they do look fun but I also see the dangers of going down way too fast...on your head.

I was with a coworker, a few years back, when he found out one of his best friends was killed on one. It was awful.

I like the description....Never fly higher than you are willing to fall!
Lol

That looks like sooooo much fun for the first 2 minutes. The last 6 seconds not so much!!

I have a brown pair of underpants if you want to borrow them for your first time out...

I've been on one, enjoyed about the first 45 seconds of going air but then the driver wasn't paying attention and had to turn hard and it ripped me off the tube @15' (luckily) in the air. I hit disturbed water, so it wasn't like concrete but I've never had my life jacket try to kill me like it did that time. You think taking a bad wake2wake spill hurts, ... .. . this is a whole new kinda ouch.

Watched that vid from @GiddYupJoe and that's about right. Except I was 15' airborn for about 30 seconds and then (just like you hear their engine RPM slow) the turn was just too much for the kite tube and it tossed me. I used a different type of kite tube though.

Don't think I want to ride anything where the passengers have to say " just gun it"! Holy shit. They had to be going 50+

My LS pulled up a giant three seater round tube that had two kids on it. Took it out of the water about 10 feet and flipped. Lucky they didn't get killed. It will really mess you up when you hit the concrete I mean water. Don't consider it. It will only lead to tragedy.

I am afraid that I have to say that they are bad news. It is all too easy to convince yourself it is operator error...and then your daughter dies on one. If you have a hankering to fly, go get an introduction to flight in a Cessna at the nearest airport! At least those craft have flight controls. The tube doesn't.

Those are great gifts, I bought one of those and an electric train set for the bathtub as a GOING AWAY presents for my ex wife. There is an up side to everything.
