We have absolutely fallen in love with Hawaii (Actually Lake Powell & Hawaii are our two favorite destinations), we have gone to Hawaii for the last three years in a row.

The first trip in 2014 we did a couples trip with our best friends for 7 nights on Oahu at the Hilton Waikiki Village Beach Resort. The second trip in 2015 we went with my In-Laws for 5 nights on Oahu at the Hilton Waikiki Village Beach Resort. Our third trip this year we took our Daughter and her Boyfriend, spent 4 nights on Oahu at the Hilton Waikiki Village Beach Resort, then spent 3 nights on the Big Island staying in Waikoloa at the Hilton Kings Land Resort.

We have done a lot of cool things from Helicopter Tours, Zip Lining, ATV Tours, Submarine Ride, Snorkeling, etc. There is still so much exploring and things on our list for both islands - down the road we plan to do Maui and Kauai.

We decided on our last trip to buy a timeshare with Hilton Grand Vacations Club, it was not cheap, but we will use it for a long time a be able to hand it down to our kids when we kick the bucket.

Today we decided to book our 2017 trip for two solid weeks in Hawaii, first week will be on Oahu at the Hilton Waikiki Village Beach Resort and the second week we are staying on the Big Island at the Bay Club at Waikoloa Beach Resort. It will be nice to spend two weeks there during the end of February to get a break from Winter.

Any other Jetboaters here Hawaii fans???

Love it
Everybody has to visit if they've not been somewhere in Pacific

I've never been but I've always wanted to go. Looks beautiful!

I lived in Hawaii for two and a half years in Kailua on Oahu. We spent most of our time at the sandbar in Kaneohe Bay. We bought our first boat there.

Living there was magical and we all cried when the Navy told us it was time to move.

I love Kailua, we have kayaked out there several times, beautiful area of Hawaii. My Niece and her Husband are stationed in Oahu right now, so they are loving life. We have thought about moving there several times, but all of our family is here in Arizona/California.

You should move there! I hope to move back one day. Lanikai beach and the Kbay sandbar are my two favorite places on earth.

Been there once and absolutely loved it. I cannot recommend Kauai enough if you like nature and hiking. Absolutely beautiful island and do the helicopter tour. It's time for us to go back.

Oh yeah love it there. Have a good friend who lives in Waikiki. Visited him couple years back for 2 weeks. It's nice to have a free place to stay! Hope to go back when our son is a little older.

We built a new 2300 Sq Ft custom home on 2 acres in Northern Arizona last year, it would cost us upwards of a million to have something this nice in Hawaii, and we built this for 360K here. I have a pretty damn nice view every morning of the mountains which I would miss.

yes sir spent three years. it was my pops last three years in the marine corp. we lived in the naval housing right across from honolulu intl. we have gone back several times and have been too 9 islands. my fave was the big island and being in kileau. i actually talked my family from our annual trip to the island to the bimini trip.

Just about nowhere else I'd rather go I haven't been. One day, maybe when I hate money just a little bit more!

From 1 to 6 years old I lived in Aiea and had a view of the Arizona Memorial from the backyard. I went back every summer for 6 to 8 years and still go back every 2 to 5 years to visit family. I love it there but wouldn't want to live there, too expensive plus I've found I get island fever after about 2 weeks. This and most of our friends and family are in CA now.

If you continue to go I recommend that you see and do things that are out of the norm for tourists/visitors, do what the locals do and eat where the locals eat if you want to really experience Hawaii. Keep in mind that IMHO Waikiki is a tourist trap compared to the other side of Oahu or even the other islands. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy helicopter tours, jetlevimg and swimming with the mantas as well (mostly possible because lodging is free for me) but that is not what my friends and relatives that live there do and they still love it there.

We also love Hawaii. We've been to all the islands except Maui. Each island is unique and interesting. Being scuba divers we really love the Big Island as the underwater world there is still very much alive. Kauai is beautiful and low key, if you go there you have to take a helicopter tour. And of course, Waikiki is great fun. Sunsets in Hawaii rival those that @Murf'n'surf posts.

I love parts of it, not Oahu. We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, big waste. Very expensive and not worth it, IMO. I haven't been to Kauai or the big Island yet, that would be our next plan. Oahu has crappy traffic, tons of tourists and TONS of people asking you for money. Its changed a lot in the 20yrs I've been going there. The north shore is nice. Went to Maui about 4 yrs ago, have a great time. The east and west sides of the island are very different just like many of the other islands are. If you haven't been to Oahu and Waikiki, its total tourists and high prices.

Hawaii is a great place. My wife is from Hawaii originally and has family there. Her grandfather owned Parker Ranch on the big island before leaving it in trust at his death. No benifit for her, but a boon for the locals. Been a while since we have been back but look forward to seeing family again. The big island is much less touristy than oahu and a little more country.

Went to big island in feb of this year. Wife had a conference and I rode my bike most of the day. One day I rode through the middle of Parker Ranch on Mana Rd. Not exactly touristy.IMG_0519.JPGIMG_0523.JPG IMG_0528.JPG IMG_0521.JPG

I agree with most here. Last time we were there we staid with my friend on Oahu. Very touristy, traffic was bad, and everything in Waikiki is expensive. Waikiki is like the Rodeo drive of Hawaii. The North Shore on Oahu is much more laid back and not as bad. We also enjoyed kayaking off Kualoa Point by Chinaman's Hat. That area doesn't feel as touristy as the Waikiki area of Oahu.

We took a day trip over to the big island to tour the volcano national park. Much different over there. It feels more authentic and not as touristy.

Hawaii is expensive period, everything has to be brought in by ship and plane. We like the Hilton Hawaiian Village, pristine beach, well manicured grounds, nice accomodations, and lot's of things right there from shops to restaurants. We typically do not spend a lot inside the village as we are out and about around the island, we enjoy Kailua, North Shore, Kualoa Ranch, and snorkeling in different areas. The traffic in Honolulu does suck and there are a lot of tourists there, we were shocked at the homeless population there as well. But overall we enjoy the island in general and have found a lot of places we enjoy. The sunsets are hard to beat in Hawaii, here are a couple pics we took, first on Waikiki Beach and the second on the Big Island.
