@Scuba_ref Did you guys do the night dive on the Big Island with the Manta Rays? It's on our bucket list next year:
@AZDANSX230HO we have done that dive three times. There are a lot of people in the water, both divers and snorkelers, but it is an absolute must do. The first time we went was in May of two years ago and we only had two or three mantas come in. This past Christmas we did the dive twice and we had nearly 20 rays come in - unbelievable experience. You can pair that dive up with either an evening dive in the same area before or with a black water dive in about 3000 feet of water after. The black water dive can be a little spooky, you are in open ocean, tethered to the boat floating in 3000 plus feet of water (you are only 35 - 45 feet below the boat). My wife didn't want to do the black water dive so we went once on the evening/manta combo and then my daughter and I went again and did the manta/blackwater combo. During the blackwater dive you have the opportunity to see some very interesting animals. I've attached a video link from Jack's Diving Locker that shows some of what you can see. We went with Big Island Divers. The video shows way more than what we actually saw...it is a promotional video after all.
