"head" latch

Can you close the door to your head/storage closet on your 2007+ 230 series boat without touching the latch? There is an angle at the fixed piece that makes it seem as if it should latch just by closing the door, but mine doesn't actually close, and I have to manually pull the latch to get the door to close. Is this as designed? or is mine misaligned?

My 2009 closes just as you described. Have to manually work the latch for it to close.
