I am nervous about drill holes also but I just wasn't happy with the two 1200 lumens lights. The plug lights are easy to install and they worked well with my 19ft boat (two plugs) but my 212 only has one plug right behind the rudder.
Definitely post your results. I'll eventually get back to this, and will keep this thread updated if/when that happens.
