@help on the water. Ignition does nothing when turned. Battery showong 12.6 volts. Tried jump pack....nothing. all electronics work.

Jiggle fnr lever

Do you have two batteries? If so, is the start battery switch on?

fuses in the ECU, under the circle cover ,

Is it turning over or not turning over at all?
Turning over: check kill switch
Not turning over: start at battery, check fuses / relays / switch wires

if your electronics work it's probably not your ECU fuses but worth checking anyways,

I would jiggle the throttles and work the cleanout hatch switch,

It would be very unusual for your actual key switch to go out,

What were you doing before this happened? hanging out anchored? tubing and you stopped to change riders ?

Double check both the lanyard kill switch and the stern hatch kill switch.
Make sure it is in nuetral.

I'm thinking that because he hasn't replied, he may have got it started... :)

and for future reference the @ help (all together with no space) only sends out the special alert if you use it in the body of the post,

putting it in the title line doesn't send the alert,

also, the safety lanyard cuts the spark, the engine will still turn with the starter with the lanyard out,

the cleanout hatch safety switch will disable the starter also so the engine won't respond at all ( in case you have your hand down the cleanout tube)

.

I think the safety lanyard creates a no crank condition on the E series...i will confirm tomorrow night.

thanks for the clarification @Scottintexas. I never realized the [USERGROUP=9]@HELP[/USERGROUP] had to be in the body of the post. Is that a system limitation? Because up until you told me, I would have instinctively put it in the subject line to get maximum attention.

Is that a system limitation?

I don't understand how any of it works, ;) only the instructions say to put it in the body to send the signal, I say do both,

and by the way, even though you just activated the alert signal by using the function, I didn't get the alert on that either,
what about you @tdonoughue ??

Nope. Got notified you mentioned me, but nothing from the help tag... Shall we let @Bruce know? Oops. Already did...

Oops, didn’t mean to do that. Could it be because I replied to your post?

All. Thank you so much for your replies. I just got service back. Ended up being starter cable loose. Tightened it up and started right up. Here on the lake for the week so we will see if it happens again. This forum is awesome. Sorry I couldn't reply individually to each of your suggestions. Thank you!!!!!!!

I'm glad that you're out of this situation safely . I'm wondering if with these at-help situations, (afraid to write it out correctly) that some type of constant notification or limited access on the forum to the person who made the post could be implemented until the case has been resolved. That way we all can learn from the situation and get better at identifying the issues and we have some peace of mind of the outcome. (?)
