If it cranks, check the lanyard and clean out hatch switch.
If it doesn't crank check the clean out hatch switch.
 
He got it running. Diagnostic code 1 is no fault as far as I can find.
 
The OBD diagnostic code _1_6 may be a thermal switch fault, which indicates an over heat situation, or a bad sensor (since the engine was cold).
