There is a small circle clip inside the tongue that needs to be replaced after the break away cable is pulled. It doesn't sound like that happened to him ... guess we will wait for an update.
The clip isn't needed. It's there for two reasons, one to tell if it's been activated, two to make take more tension to actually engage i.e., you don't accidentally engage with little effort exerted on the cable. As long as you reset with the clip on the bottom and that the cable is retracted back into the tongue with the "barrel" back in the hole, and the tongue pulled or pryed forrward, they should be OK. Here is the actual parts if someone needs to replace. I thought about it but repaired the cable myself as you have to disassemble and bleed.
