Hitch height?

@Irvs This is what you need there. Also at Walmart.

Thanks scarabmike! I've never towed anything with View attachment 22944 this truck haha. Just dirtbikes loaded in the back.

I've no idea of the plug I have on the truck; however attached is a pic.

You will need to get an adapter, something like this:

Unless Yamaha has made a recent change, their trailers typically use a flat, 5-pin connection.

OOPS, I had not refreshed and didn't realize this question had already been answered.

I recall that 18" is the standard ball height (base) to shoot for. Trailer frame should be level. Lubing the bunks with silicone spray or liquid rollers makes a massive difference in getting the boat on and off the trailer. In my area the 7-5 pin adapter was very expensive so I just gut off the 5-pin and wired on a $5 7-pin plug. Nothing I own has a 5-pin only 7-pin anyway. Cam.

I don't know if the 190/192 frame sits as high as the 21/23/24 boats. It is a great deal smaller but again, I don't know. Anyway, your right on the money about frame rails being level or rather parallel to the ground front to back, but I don't know about the 18" height. Someone with a 19' that is level could chime in about hitch height when level on level ground.

I did this as well, I got tired of keeping track of a 4 pin adapter for my enclosed trailer and a 5 pin for the boat, so when I lost the 5 pin adapter I just bought 7-pin plugs for the boat and trailer.

That is a 7 pin, I wired a 7 pin plug on my boat so I didn't have to worry about the adapters. 7-pin plugs are cheaper than those adapters as well.

I didn't measure the height, but i have adjusted the hitch twice since my original post. Trailer is much more level now and weight seems to be more evenly shared between both axles. It definitely tows better. Hope to get it out today to see if unloading is any easier. If I can find that can of liquid roler I bought, that's on the list too.

One of the benefits of having an Avalanche for a tow rig... the goofy side boxes in the bed wall are the perfect places to keep those 7 pin adaptors. :)

You want the boat level! you want weight evenly distributed on tires and axels.

It does not matter if you have a 6" lift, a 2" lift, or a leveling kit. What matters is that when you hook up the trailer it sits level.:winkingthumbsup"

Thanks for all the help guys. I settled on an 8 inch drop towbar.

Forgot to update until the recent reply... my 212X still hangs up on the middle of the front bunks (both loading and unloading), but it was easier to power load this time. I found my can of liquid roller, so that'll be the next "fix". It does tow better now that it's level... slightly less bounce over bumps.
