Anyone out there purchase the HO Hovercraft. It is a newer ski from HO Sports. Supposed to be designed for riding easier behind jet propelled boats/skis.

I am contemplating one but hoping to hear from experienced guys/gals out there that have skied behind their jetboats with them. I cannot ski my usual set up as I am a former direct drive guy (32' off at 36 mph). Looking to still ski but more about just having fun.

That thing is basically a wakeboard with the binding setup like a ski. You should just wakeboard. :)

I prefer to ski. I was hoping to use it on a shortline (wakesurf rope) just for fun.

Will try bringing this back one last time. Anybody out here play on this ski yet?

I had this same question, the hovercraft looks like a lot of fun.

I was just thinking that I could run a really short line similar to the surf rope and just play hard on each side of the wake.

Marketing video looks nice. Spared no Expense there.

Looks like more sizzle than steak to me. Once you're up, it's basically a beginners slalom ski. Wouldn't mind trying one, but I don't think I'll plunk down any cash of my own for one.

I still think the skate is where it's at :D :D

I'll just leave this here :D :D

And some more info. These guys are more fun to watch than my typing is to read :D :D

I plan to buy a wakeskate just to have in our arsenal of stuff but at 47 yrs old, I am not sure I am limber enough to have something that doesn't have foot bindings. It looks neat and I intend to have one for us at some point in time. Looks like they are fairly reasonable price wise too.

You don't need the bindings. Comes up just like a wakeboard and gravity does the rest for you :D.

I'll be 41 this year, and get the "less than bendy" sentiment :D

Funny. I don't bend as well either. 32' off at 36 mph slalom ski makes me feel old the next day. lol

Haven't been on it yet, but I should have a report up here the next time we get the boat out. I will say it's big. Lots of surface area and longer than a wakeboard by quite a bit. I can see how it would be pretty stable just looking at it.

The only issue I have is that it doesn't fit well in the wakeboard racks I have. It requires a little fiddling to get it in there.

Went out yesterday and tried it, and for the life of me I couldn't get stood up on it after 4 or 5 attempts. It's gotta be a very different technique from wakeboarding, which I have zero problems with. Definitely going to try again and get that worked out.

I'm 46 and wake skating is a blast - I don't do anything crazy, but it's super fun to be out carving the waves without bindings on. Bonus that there's no edge to catch and slam you into the water, you just splash in.

If you start it like a single ski deep water start, then you're going to want to have your driver punch it quickly to get out and on top as soon as possible.

Thanks man, that makes a lot of sense and I will try it next time.

My wife calls it "Fred Flintstoning" into the water. Guess I make the twinkle toes shape when I crash?!?!

Hahaha - nearly all of my crashes have been a body roll in - like a skip and splash.

We're going out tomorrow afternoon for wakeboarding/waterski and I will be giving this another shot.
