I have seen some impressive hour amounts on the older MR1 engines, but not much feedback on the 1.8's. I am trying to gauge how long these engines will last if properly taken care of.
Just checked today before starting the oil changes. 327 on the port engine and 324 starboard. They were both at about 100 hours when I bought the boat used in 2012. I think the difference in hours is caused by the fact that when I move the boat a short distance at no wake speed (like when I reposition while drifting or have to maneuver around the docks or onto the trailer), I only turn the port engine on (since that is the first key looking left to right. I need to start using the starboard engine from now on. At rate I'm boating at now (less then before) it will be a at least 5 years before the two match up again, if ever.
