How we help new people here....

I bought my boat BECAUSE of this community - even though it "lived under a different roof" at the time.

After a few months lurking, I knew that the collective knowledge here combined with my do-it-yourself skills meant that I'd never need to worry about being left high-and-dry with my boat.

I am convinced that there is NOTHING I can't fix on my boat with the support of this group.

I think @Evil Sports is quite correct, both as to his observation and to raising it to our attention--not because I have seen any of these things either, but people fall off the track when they are not reminded of history every now and then. I see it as an excellent reminder to us to keep doing what we are doing and not become like some of the other places.

Further, extreme kudos to [USERGROUP=3]@Administrative[/USERGROUP] who do such an excellent job at all things. From the FAQ to the search function to looking at other suggestions (whether or not they bring fruit) to making sure we have enough space to do what we want to do. Primarily, though, they participate and set the tone which I think we can all agree is outstanding.

Let's keep it that way.

I think this 2017 new model release-soiree here is a perfect example of how incredibly well run and functional this forum is.

Basically, our [USERGROUP=3]@Administrative[/USERGROUP] had their $hit together and the information delivery was faster AND more accurate here than through any other venue, including Yamaha corporate itself.

One reminder for all is to keep an eye on the unanswered threads link at the top. I check it as much as I can and try to make sure no one is left without a reply.

Heck - I never even noticed that (then again, I don't notice much unless it's beating me over the head with a heavy object). Thanks for pointing it out!

All of you old timers are teaching us newbees to handle many of the questions coming in. Still, all members on this site are super inviting and have nothing but good intentions for a passion that we all have in common........creating awesome experiences on the water with our jet boats :).

I do have to admit I am not so good about the Welcome forum. Heck, I can hardly keep up with the activity in the General...

However, I have resolved to hit the unanswered threads link each time I come on.

Me too... I just don't know any of the answers... lol

None of us have all the answers! But often we know who might....so I just @ them (another critically important/useful feature of the forum!).

Exactly. . . . I think I've @'d (<------ Yes, I just did that) Julian 5 times in the last 2 days.

Speaking of which, is there a way to see when/how many times a specific user was @'d (<------ Twice now) ?

Maybe we can make a trophy for a certain # of times people are @ mentioned. . . . Since they are likely being @'d to add value to the thread.

That would be cool. So, then, for those of us who are schizophrenic, is it legit to @tdonoughue ourselves? I am told I think I always have the answer...

[USERGROUP=3]@Administrative[/USERGROUP] , is there a way to exclude certain sections (like the classifies and swag) from the unanswered list?
