Another lake that is decent, not as big as some of the others but still nice, and not too far from Myrtle Beach is Lake Greenwood in Greenwood, SC.

My wife and kids went to Dollywood till Saturday - left 6am yesterday but the boat didn't go. Traffic will be a nightmare for a few days for sure. I have to work so at least 3/4 of us got to have some fun.
 
Just shoot over to Tampa bay and play in the waves in the Gulf
