Is anyone using an inflatable stand up paddle board (SUP)?

We have had this pump https://www.airhead.com/12v-high-pressure-pump.html since 2013. One of the adapters fits the SUP. I believe we paid about half of that advertised price.

I should have mentioned, I do not open the valve to deflate, I let the pump suck it dry which makes it easier to roll compactly.

I have the same pump, I guess I should have tried all of the fittings we may have different valves as well, I don't know if they are all the same, I have to push a yellow button down and twist to let the air out.

I'll look into something like @jdonalds has, the easier it is for my wife to use the more likely she will take it and use it on her own.

@Rana's inflatable SUP is always in our boat. I bet we have two in the boat next year.

Speaking of pump, our Airhead high volume 12v pump takes care of 80% of the inflation. We use it then use the hand pump for 25 additional pumps.

Two boards are twice the fun.Especially if you have others on board that like to use them too. The longer board is easier when the dog is walking around between your legs. They both stow away in the ski locker.

It is a two stage pump that does the job completely. It was expensive but makes the job of filling two SUPs easy.

I have been looking for a new pump, will this one pump to 13 to 15 psi? Or do you hand pump from its stated max. pressure of 8.5 psi to a final higher pressure. My current pump gets me to 10psi before its starts to struggle and I finish with a hand pump to 13+psi.

Keep an eye on it. I got mine for a similar price with Prime shipping. I think it just depends on vendor stock at time of purchase.

It's a two stage pump that does the whole job. It kicks over from high volume low pressure to low volume high pressure at the end and completely inflates the SUP. We run it off a jump box which inflates both of our SUPs.

That is the same pump I have been using for the last two seasons. I have used it to initiate inflation and finish with the boards hand pump. It is pretty noisy when using out on the swim platform and draws attention when using at the beach. I usually run it up to 8-9psig on its gauge and it sounds like its struggling against the pressure. I disconnect and use the hand pump/gauge which will read 10-11 psig and pump until 13psi. Its been a good pump, but always looking for better.
I guess I will stay with this one for a while longer.

My wife is loving her board, she invited a friend to go out with us on Saturday, her friend went to Costco and bought one Friday night to bring with her. It's a Jimmy Styks as well. it's about a foot longer and has a more pointed nose than my wife's. I don't like the fin on hers, it has a little rectangle Nut plate that you have to slide in and a little screw to hold the fin on....too many parts to lose for me.
We are going to get another one "for my son".
I'm happy because my wife likes it and feels like she has something to do now, so she is more excited to go to the lake

I didn't even think about not putting it on, it probably turns easier without it. I think I'll skip it next time and see if she notices.

This is the same pump, I used yesterday to inflate one of our SUPs in the cockpit. I turned it off at 8.3 psi and hand pumped the rest to 13psi. As some of the reviews stated, the high pressure hose that came with it, arrived cracked and leaked. I used gorilla tape to fix hose.

I really like the idea of eliminating the hand pump from the boat. Unfortunately it seems this pump will not go that far and I am assuming it would slow the filling of larger items if I replaced the current electric pump.

I read a bunch of the reviews, some say it aired their sup to 15psi in 4 minutes, some say it never made it to 15. I figure I will give it a shot.
I did see this, you could use a tire air pump, but I'd be afraid of overinflating with an air compressor. Maybe if I found one with auto shutoff at 15 psi.

I did not put a stop watch on it, but after discussing the looks we got from other boaters nearby, Willow said about 8 minutes. I too would like to get the hand pump off the boat and mounting the air pump in with the batteries under the seat for quieter pumping. I mean i do have an orange boat with an orange bimini, so it is hard not to be noticed. But I do not want to be noticed as the loud noisy air pump boat. Wow, I need to time my Airhead High Pressure but I would guess it takes less than 2 minutes to inflate to 2.5 PSI followed by 25 pumps with the hand pump. It also does a great job of deflating.

It will inflate a 3 person tube in less than 8 minutes!

With that pump I can fill my 10'paddle board in something like the 8 minutes mentioned earlier.

I do not use a hand pump at all. I use the electric all the way to 14 or 15 psi. It inflates relatively quickly until it goes to high pressure mode, then it is much slower. Like 1 psi every 30 seconds or so... lol.
