Just bought this boat and have taken out. I am upgrading and fixing issues. Runs great but stealing makes a clicking noise when turning right and cannot figure out why... any ideas?
Past owner left several things undone and deferred maintenance for me to now take care of...

congratulations!

Update your profile page with your location so we know where you're at,

I can't remember off hand when the oil cooler bolt issue was fixed, you may look in the FAQ for the write up to confirm if it's something for you to monitor,

when it "clicks"
are you on the water or on the trailer?
is it coming from the wheel or the jet ?
is it in the full range of the wheel or only certain spots that it clicks?

I would disconnect the cables from behind the wheel to confirm if it's in the steering box or other, if no click then start working you way backwards

I think he is ok on oil cooler (mine is).

And do you have any type of fins (CJS or JBP)?

When you are answering @Scottintexas 's questions above, note that if you have it on the trailer, normally you can stand back by the jets and move the jets to starboard/port (and the wheel will turn). That may help you locate the click (particularly if it is something near the jets that is catching on something).

Click is coming from the steering column while turning the wheel right.

Look in the helm compartment. There should be a piece of fabric with rubber bands on the aft side of the compartment that you can easily remove to see all the wires and crap.

You will see the steering yolk--big brass looking piece of metal--attached to the steering cables. Check that as you turn the wheel. I am betting you have a wire or something in the way that is clicking as you go past it... A zip tie may fix you.

(then we need to rename the thread 'Texans helping Texans'. :) )

Thank you, i have numerous parts coming in in the next few days, I’ll make a run to storage and check it out...

Replacing the driver seat that had a broken bolster, removing carpet and installing Aqua Marine Deck, replacing missing bimini top cover and sever other wear items but will be bringing it back to looking like a new boat!!!!

and..... you're just across the lake from me !!

Replacing the driver seat that had a broken bolster,

If you want to save a ton of money, keep the seat with the broken bolster and put in an adjustable seat post. Our bolster broke off clean, so the chair looks good with it removed. And now with the adjustable seat post, I get better height, and a full backrest. It's a better option for those of us that want to sit high, rather than lean against a bolster for a fraction of the cost of a new captains chair.

Good luck!

Have you replaced the carpet with Aqua Marine Deck yet? Let me know how it turned out if you did. Thank you.

Haven’t received the Aqua Marine deck, already ordered the replacement bolster, cover and cushions coming in soon... videos of install look very easy... got some macguires degreaser to clean cushions and get stains out... I’ll post pics once finished

Congrats on the boat purchase! I removed my stickers/graphics except for the pinstripe and that's coming off soon as well because it looks like crap.

That was my plan too....Was just trying to consider at some point putting some other decals on besides the standard to make it look a whole bunch better

Love the look of your deck material is it see deck or aquamarine deck?

I got the boat this year and I've spent enough already this year but I do plan on putting on some new graphics at some point once I figure out a design. Something subtle, but since it's solid black, I think it needs something.
