Someone ran a topic in here a while back on getting it right, with his kids, their friends and keeping in touch.....Good thread. Well, here is a shout-out to getting it right with my wife.

I built an outdoor shower a while back. With the exception of late January/early February it is used regularly.

In more than a handful of occasions we'll be out there showering.....and get that feeling of being watched....sure 'nuff....another visit from one of NC extensive snake population !!...they're usually in front of us on one of the deck columns...On occasion we find them in the lattice over our head....

at any rate, we leave each other alone, wife is pretty good about it !! I'm impressed......I personally welcome a snake at any time....they're awesome !!

sadly, as cool as she is with a snake...she made me take out the strobe light.....now THAT was fun..

Called my guy at the boat storage yard this morning to let him know I was coming out tonight.....he said, "Yeah, I was just out checking the air in your trailer tires and guess what? - so I bit, "What?"

"There was a big rattler sitting under the boat next to yours"

So now, when I get out there tonight do you think I'm going to just jump right up there and pull the cover off?

HELL NO!

I told him to make sure and check my boat....only thing worse than Snakes on a Plane is snakes on MY boat!!

Very cool shower!

thanks Bruce.

We have water snakes along our shoreline that closely resemble copper heads in pattern. when they swim by us we all stop moving...we can see them when they're above water...
they tend to sun themselves on that large warm aft swim deck......

We do keep a large rubber snake under our dock on the floats....Visitors love that stunt !!

For folks in the south this is a GREAT resource: http://www.bio.davidson.edu/projects/herpcons/herps_of_NC/snakes/snakes.html

now rattlers and cottonmouth..that's another story all together...

Nice!
Here is my outdoor shower.

I miss living at a place where I could do that on my backporch.

Was splitting logs 2 weeks ago and came very close to grabbing a 2-3 foot copper head! I don't mind snakes, but venomous ones have to go.

Julian 7, Copperheads 0 - so far while I've lived here (4 years).

never ever ever kill a snake !!

That's an awesome shower!!! Someday I'll live in a place warm enough for something like that!!!
