Thinking of trailer West tomorrow and launch at Goodland.

Make way around Dome homes and hang out at Hurricane pass.

Seeing if anyone was going to be in that area to say hi and have a beer.

Lmk

Pictures to come hopefully.
A front is moving through and winds are picking up....

if you're up this way (Tampa Bay), I'll have that beer with you. But, like you said, it's a windy weekend. Have fun!

Hello. My wife and I are going Anna Maria at the Waterline Resort the last week of July. I’m studying charts, and planning routs to Passage Key, Egmont Key, and Fort Desoto sandbar. Any advice on the best areas to anchor at the beaches? It looks like a house cat could touch bottom and keep it’s belly dry around the resort area. I made the mistake of following a flat bottom bay boat out of Shell Point a few years ago. He turned right, towards Pine Key almost as soon as he got in the bay, and I said “Cool. He must know the fast way”.... and I spent the next 10 minutes pondering how the heck he crossed the snare I was stuck in.

Fort Desoto has their own boat ramp and would be a great spot to launch from especially if you're heading to Passage Key (crossing the bay can get pretty rough depending on wind). Really nice spot, just make sure you bring two anchors as boat traffic thru the pass can get pretty rough. We've been there a couple times. Takes ~80 minutes to get there. Egmont is nice to go there and see the fort on the West side of the island. Haven't been there in over 20 years. The East side is typically more calm. Baja (boats) used to throw some wild parties there; good'ole days. Shell Key is really nice too; next inlet North from Passage Key. Spent nights there when the boys were little (different boat back then). If you go to Shell Key you should stop in at The Island Grille and Raw Bar. Excellent spot for live music, great food, and a good size swimming pool. We've been there several times. Good luck and enjoy!!!

Had such a good today in Key Largo, heading West tomorrow.

Will be leaving around 9am to Marco Island via SW 8th St. Will be launching from Goodland and head around Dome Houses to Hurricane pass in Naples.

Any West Boating people be out?

How is your 19' footer handling the seas out there? I would enjoy going down there.

Come on down. I can't find anyone here yet to meet up with.
I'll take you through Haulover In Miami. South to Key Largo to Marathon or West from Marco Island to Sanibel anytime.

Handles like a champ. I wish I had twin but it does 40-45mph no problem
Sure I get thrown around a little with big waves but I pick a line and let the boat do the work as wave goes under hull

I just upload videos of Key Largo but none while moving today. May be tomorrow since I have Gopro working

Once I figure out work. I was supposed to be headed to the north east this next week and was going to take the boat, since I was going alone. Well that trip was cancelled. Now there is discussion of Miami the Third Week of September. Will see what boss does and how that pans out. I would leave early and thought about pulling the boat down.

Hit me up when you know.

I have a big yard if you need if it opens locations to stay.

I am under 30min inland from closet boat ramp on 79th st in Miami

It's a 1:45 minute drive from Miami but we'll worth it.

Do you know the story behind those domes? Just wondering.

Thanks for sharing the highlights of your past few trips.

Nope sure don't.
But it would an art thing.

If you search old pictures you'll see it used to be on the beach...

The years have not be kind to it.

Did a reverse image search on google, and this came up. Per the article, they were constructed in the 80’s, and were a beach house. First link has a few photos of when it was on land…

The domes were a lot of fun when they were still on land. You could walk around in them, bbq, party, etc.

Murf, get another boat so you can show me around lol. Im back and fourth on getting one

I have fallen in love with the game of golf. There's no time for boating any longer :)
