Just wondering if anyone has trailered with the cover on the boat.... When I purchased my boat used the owner said never leave the cover on when trailering as it will get destroyed.... I wondered why this would happen as the cover seems to be very tight and secure.... I am planning a trip to Lake George NY from Georgia this summer and would like to leave the cover on the boat to protect it from Road grime... Anyone have any experience at trailering at 65-70 mile an hour for long distance?
ALWAYS leave the cover on when trailering for the reasons everyone here has mentioned. I haven't used the poles since I bought 2 HUGE beach balls (Intex 42" from Amazon). Blow 'em up and put 'em in the bow when pulling the cover on, I also put in all the bow cushions, so my boat looks like it's got boobs.
Seems to keep more rain out while towing (I tow half an hour to my storage area) with the balls in place. I was caught in two rainstorms this past year, super easy to pull on the side of the bow area and things empty out pretty well. At the very least, I had WAAAAAYYYYYYYY less water with the beach balls in than without them.
