The boat had been winterized and I don't expect to take it out again until April. I decided to start buying my off season stuff early this time around to spread out the costs.

First up marine stabil and Yamaha oil, filters and fogging oil for the boat and waverunners. Under $200.

Next two new batteries for the boat. $250ish after the core exchange.

The spark plugs just came in. 14 iridium and 2 non iridiums. $150ish.

Craftsman outdoor storage shed. Obviously this won't be installed on the boat or waverunners but it's been designated to hold all of my boat related stuff. My son and I just assembled and loaded it tonight.
$220 including tax.

Sub-total of $820 so far and i haven't bought anything fun yet. I used to thinking boating was expensive in season but now ...
More to come (lots of off season left).

Nice, I like that little shed. I need to get something like that. Does heavy rain stay out?

Funny you should ask that as the first big storm of this season just started to dump rain on me as I took pics of the storage shed. The short answer is I think it is very rain resistant but won't know for sure until I open it again. It has a 10 year warrant though, holds a lot and took less than 30 minutes to assemble.

pay now or pay later to fix stuff or sell it cheap, It's good to be able to segregate stuff, I wish I could have a barn to store my stuff,

What kind of oil extractor is that? does it work just ok or great?

@Scottintexas , I'm not sure about the brand of oil extractor it is, my wife ordered per my request from westmarine. It works great though. I don't run the engines on the hose to heat the oil first and the pump on this extractor works just fine but still takes 10 to 15 minutes to get 3 quarts of oil from an engine. One great feature is that it holds over 2 gallons so I don't have to empty the thing too often.

Boat stands for Bust Out Another Thousand

@Ronnie do you do a lot of music or extenend play times or high draw on the boat? I only ask because your AGM are group 34 and are actually smaller than a group 24. This was brought to my attention in another thread I had about batteries.

Don't return to a group 34 battery. It's smaller/shorter/lighter and has less capacity than a standard group 24. You most likely have a group 24 battery tray/bracket or case/lid. A group 34 has some great applications but not for this one.

If you add a battery On/Off switch the parasitic drains should be a thing of the past.

Thanks for the information @2nazt , I trust David Analog's advice but won't be taking any more action where batteries are concerned. Although we spend a lot of time at anchor or beached listening to music we only turn it up while underway. The batteries I'm replacing lasted five seasons (four under me and the other with the boat's original owner) and they had lower specs than the AGMs, also like the original batteries these will be on a charger maintainer whenever the boat is off the water so they will always be topped off. Aside from the above I don't want to keep returning / exchanging batteries, it's time consuming which runs counter to the big reason I went with the AGMs, no maintenance, my plan is to install the AGMs and not think of them again until they start to fail which should be years from now.

@Drift Away , unfortunately I'm all too familiar with the definition of BOAT. Thankfully i don't have to replace the batteries every year.

so far all this off season's costs have been for maintenance and repair items. I'm hoping to purchase some new fun items soon, thinking about a zup board and a baby box anchor to make anchoring from the stern easier.

You should be fine @Ronnie with that kind of usage. The AGM version might be better than a Lead Acid 34. I wish I could transfer my discount to forum members for interstate but I can't. I just wanted to bring it up to you as I also hate and would forget to check batteries for maintenance.
