My new boat is in the shop...Any guess to what the mechanic will tell me?

@mpbassett44 , I understand, but it seems like they could have called Yamaha to determine if the on water test would be covered though. As for the $600 for 10 hour service fee, the going rate at my local dealer was $750 to $800 over two years ago so it's probably higher now so from that perspective $600 is a bargain. At the same time you can do it all your self for less than $100 using all Yamaha product or about $50 with non Yamaha products in which case $600 is a rip off. I hope bert's can find your leak. I would bet that @Matt Phillips is correct. That is, water is being forced through the anchor drain at no wake speeds (although I thought Yamaha would have addressed this in the latest versions of the 240s). the water sloshes over the side walls of the anchor locker and settles in the lowest part of the hull just under the front of the ski locker. i always had water coming out of the main drain after boating until I plugged the anchor locker hole from the inside.

Small world, I bought my current boat used from a guy near la, he got it from berts mega mall in Covina. I recently bought a used pwc and trailer, the trailer has a berts decal on it. I have to visit this place for myself someday.

@Ilmmct , the $200 credit just seems like deferred compensation in that if you got cash you could spend it anywhere you like (or save it) versus a credit which you can only use at Yamaha. When I have to take a credit instead of get a refund I always try and push for better than dollar for dollar, so if the water test was $100 a $200 or $300 credit would seems appropriate too me. On the other hand a credit is better than no credit at all and I don't think my local dealer would have any issues with charging full price for the water test and offering no credits on it what so ever.
