My Pool Build

It's coming along nicely! Seeing that rebar does not make me miss my construction days pouring concrete walls and footings :D. It was fun sometimes when we would have rebar tying contests to see who could do as much correctly in as little time possible (for beer prizes of course). Some guys can freakin' fly once they get in the groove!

Just got back from a trip to Belize and surprise, we have gunite!

Looks like the gas line is going in today.

What a mess lol... if it comes out anything like the sketches though, it will be well worth it!

Im following your project as Im also following my best friends. His started with a ground breaking on May11 2017.

That looks awesome! I was just looking at pool renovations for ours, I am afraid of the cost come estimate time though. Our pool is simple just too long for what we need and we could use some of that space for a hot tub. I love the cave idea too.

@adrianp89 Thank you. Agree that the costs are just silly. Only reason I even agreed to it was because I paid off the boat, so I'm swapping a boat payment for a pool payment. Good luck on the renovation.

Minor progress on the pool. Sprinklers and dirt work are complete. Synthetic grass going in tomorrow though! Plaster could possibly next week.

you put some water on it today, you get your own private ice skating ring by night

Synthetic grass. I like the sound of that. No mowing!

Going to look really nice once done.

Looks freaking awesome! When are we coming over for the break in party???? LOL

Ok, ok, I get it now. I was miffed as to why you were putting in sprinklers if you were using artificial turf. But the pics of trees and bushes cleared that up. ;) Gotta watch those pool contractors closely though, some will keep trying to up sell anything.

Just kidding of course. Looks awesome, congrats.

Beautiful. Hope your family enjoys it as much if not more than the neighbors pool!:winkingthumbsup"

This is my second time having a pool built. I had one built at my old house back in ‘06. I’m using the same pool builder as last time. He’s a small builder who does much of the work in-house vs. subbing everything out.
I can post pictures of the progress if there is interest. Here are some pics of the plan.

I love the design. I like the shallow area outside the hot tub.
