My wiper fluid pump stopped working. I took the old one out and the impeller was frozen, it had a lot of corrosion on the outside so I'm assuming water made it inside and rusted it up.
I bought a new one and it went in very easy, the notch lined up, I was in a rush, thought it was secure, filled it up and it pumped fluid. Then I notice the puddle under the truck, it was leaking like a sieve.
Today I pushed the seal ring in further with a 1" socket and also pushed with a flat head screw driver. The leaking slowed down but it's still dripping.
The instructions said to put some dry graphite on the seal but I didn't have any and just put it in dry.
Anybody have experience with this? do I have to have dry graphite ? should I try some plumbers tape or a bead of silicone?
